« on: January 15, 2015, 05:29:45 am »
Just curious on what people would recommend the most as i know the Anime is on Netflix but if the Manga is better etc... i am seriously considering buying the volumes.

Please post why you think so without too many spoilers :D.

I haven't finished the anime or started the manga so I can't give an opinion, but if you go with the anime keep in mind that there is two different ones. There's FMA and FMA: Brotherhood. I think the latter follows the manga more closely than the other.

Please be careful not to fall into any holes in reality caused by my reality hole generator. If you do fall in though, I can assure you that there will be no adverse side effects except for the following: instantaneous mutation, loss of 1 or more vital organs, turning into banana pudding, amnesia, loss/growth of 1 or more limbs, additional vital organs, loss of DNA, insanity, hallucinations, destruction of the fabric of space and time, redundancy, redundancy, a craving for apples, the ability to see shinigami, for females: an erection lasting more than 4 hours, for males: extremely painful menstrual cramps, testicular inversion, gender swapping, the urge to watch my little pony, and/or death

No seriously. If you watch it or read it, and you don't hate it. then the other option offers more enjoyment. I don't like reading though so i just watched both brotherhood and the origonal since brotherhood follows the mangas story.

If you watch the anime, then don't start with Brotherhood. It will ruin the first anime for you because it's that good. I made that mistake and wish I hadn't. Can't say anything about the manga, since that's not my cup of tea.

Well, judging by your approximate spot in the 2003 anime, then you've broken off from the manga.

Definitely anime for me. Was not just the story, but the music and cut-scenes that made it better than manga.

My personnal ranking : FMA Brotherhood > FMA manga > FMA first anime.

The first anime is really not great. Indeed, the manga was not over when the anime was issued, so scenarists had to imagine everything after a certain episod... And that was really strange.

Brotherhood is following the story told in the manga, but you can find the anime in streaming for free, so watch it that's better IMO. ^^

So, either watch one of the most praised animes (FMA Brotherhood), or read one of the most praised mangas... Why not both?
Personally, I'm saving to buy the whole manga collection once I get a place to store it.

I've read the manga and really liked it.
Didn't watch FMA Brotherhood, though. It is indeed one of the most valued anime (MAL #1 anime all time), so it can't be bad.
