Forum Stats/Community based moderation
« on: March 27, 2015, 08:16:08 am »
(Updated June 2)

What is the forum stats about?
Basically, this is a community based moderation implemented a few months ago, in case users posted offensive images either in their posts, signatures, forum profile or avatar, it will all be forcefully hidden when a member's health drops below or equal to zero after being slap barraged by everyone.

On the other hand, patting a member restores their health, gains more charisma which also means more defense from slaps. Members with high pat count will also heal a great deal and also potentially deal more damage because critical chance increases when at 80% health and above (more info below).

Members with below 0 health will not be able to participate in battle, and can only be patted/slapped further with no limitations by other members. It will also convert their faction + vessel title to "Destroyed Unit" and can never be changed until said member is patted back to life.

Here's how forum stats work and more in depth stuff:

Max Health = 500 + post count + rank bonus.
+Pat heal value = ( Charisma value - Raw pat value ) / Raw pat value. The minimum heal value however increases by rank. If minimum ratio is achieved (by rank as well), you will do perfect heal value.

Code: [Select]
Max hp and pat %def cap rank bonuses:
Apprentice = +5, 50% def, 0% minimum heal, 100% min ratio to do perfect heal
Cadet = +15, 50% def, 0% minimum heal, 100% min ratio " "
Petty Officer = +40, 50% def, 0% minimum heal, 100% min ratio " "
Chief Petty Officer = +100, 50% def, 5% minimum heal, 100% min ratio " "
Warrant Officer = +200, 50% def, 7% minimum heal, 97% min ratio " "
Chief Warrant Officer = +350, 50% def, 10% minimum heal, 95% min ratio " "
Ensign = +500, 55% def, 12% minimum heal, 93% min ratio " "
Lieutenant = + 750, 60% def, 15% minimum heal, 90% min ratio " "
Lieutenant Commander = +1,500, 65% def, 18% minimum heal, 87% min ratio " "
Commander = +2,500, 70% def, 22% minimum heal, 85% min ratio " "
Captain = +5,000, 75% def, 25% minimum heal, 83% min ratio " "
Rear Admiral = +10,000, 77% def, 35% minimum heal, 80% min ratio " "
Vice Admiral(2500 posts) = +15,000, 78% def, 40% minimum heal, 75% min ratio " "
?????(4000 posts) =  +40,000, 79% def, 45% minimum heal, 70% min ratio " "
?????(9000 posts) = +100,000, 90% def, 50% minimum heal, 60% min ratio " "

Critical strike (Deals 200~400% extra damage) = 5% + ( Post count/100 ) % chance, capped to a maximum 30%. Damage reduction is applied first.
+If a member is at 80% health or above, they get an additional 10% critical chance.

Damage reduction mechanics:
Slap damage has 2 parts:
1. Non-Reducible damage = Round up ( Post count / 100 ).
2. Reducible damage (% of max hp + slaps received) - values less than or equal to the Charisma of the target will be decreased by 50% minimum (threshold depending on rank) up to a maximum of 100%.

Example:
1. If you were attacked with 800 slap damage where 600 is reducible damage, and you have 900 charisma and Captain rank (75% minimum reduction), the damage you will receive is:
Code: [Select]
a. 800 total slap damage - 600 reducible damage = 200 non-reducible damage.
b. 600 reducible damage - 900 charisma = -300. Too tough!
Ignore the difference and apply the min/max % damage reduction to the 600 reducible instead.
c. 75% of 600 will be reduced ( 600 - 450 ), leaving 150 damage.
Target will now receive 200 non-reducible damage + 1~150 randomized damage
= 201~350 damage.

The system will then roll for the crit value.
If it procs, it then adds a random (200~400%) multiplier, making total damage deal...
From 201 up to 1400 damage depending on the crit proc and chosen multiplier.
^This explains why the non-reducible damage (post count /100) is low yet lethal at high amounts, as it is excluded in the reductions but included in critical multipliers.

Getting too much slaps will reduce the charisma down to 0 or even amplify more damage if it's greater than the number of pats.
+Negative charisma causes all damage received to be 200%.

We finally have confirmation for how many posts it takes to reach the hidden ranks. I assume they're Vice Admiral, Admiral, and Fleet Admiral? Regardless, it's safe to say I'll never reach that last rank.

It took (slightly over) one year to reach two thousand, and for most of that time I was at my maximum free time, spamming as much as possible. Nowadays, I have a bit less time, and a bit less spam, but assuming the same pace, it would still take me three and a half more years. I don't think I have that much spam.

Whoa... 9000 post to reach the highest rank... No way am I ever reaching that level.

I'm exhausted just trying to reach Captain rank -_-
The only way to truly hurt a man, is to take everything that he valued and degrade it and remind him of it everyday of his life. But by doing this, you also create a monster, and you will regret ever harming that man, because he will be your greatest horror.

Spam post until you reach 9k.

Just type random things for everyday, at the rate of 10post per day, it just take 900days (2years 5month and 20days. )

See? It's easy!

Easier said than done. Look at Elvis, it took him a year to reach his current rank, he even spammed a lot. He's the creator of the spam thread even, both normal spam & image spam.

Generally, I try to make even my spam have some sort of purpose besides just to spam. I do have some small amount of pride in what I do. If I wanted, sure, I could be at 9K right now, but it wouldn't mean anything.

And It worths it. I don't think you can just reach high rank by spamming for a few months.  This is more like a reward for a member who stick around the forum for years.

So let's keep posting and sticking around. I am sure that in the few years, we can reach the highest rank.

I guess you're right. So there are such things as bad & good spam... the problem is, how to differentiate between the two.
