Grigs happily begins digging into his meal, completely oblivious to any protests or funny looks being cast his way. "This is good," he announces, wearing a big, goofy grin.

Those are the only words he feels the need to share, merely listening to the stories his allies tell, mostly audible over the sound of his teeth mashing together.

After a moment, that Jewel lady speaks his name, and he looks over, curiously. Archery? Shot? Hmm... something about beer? No, this context is more about bows and stuff, he feels. He never really liked that type of weapon much, which makes sense, since he never really liked any kind of weapon much- they don't really like him either, though- and he prefers an up-close sort of brawl. Plus, the last time he met with arrows, he died. Still, he's glad she's good with something! She probably won't die too easily, though she might not make for a good sparring partner. Maybe he'll challenge her to an eating contest instead (or just eat her food for her).

He realizes he's been staring absentmindedly for a bit, and blinks, before giving her a large 'thumbs up' gesture, before turning back to his food. He wonders if he should go and break that guy out after all, now that she mentions it. Sushi would probably join in, too, and it could be a fun afternoon...

His attention is drawn away by Thumbs, as the scholar-y guy finishes his version of the tale. Grigs tilts his head, remembering the way he'd revealed his name, like a big secret. It was kinda funny; as far as Grigs' concerned, what you're called doesn't matter as much what you do, anyway, and he remembers Thumbs'd been pretty handy back at that dungeon place. Plus, he'd been trying to teach him some smart people stuff, which... while not going terribly well... was awful kind of him. Grigs was still trying to convince him to let him teach 'im about fighting and building muscles, in exchange, but he wasn't quite up for it.

The time Grigs'd burst into his room in the middle of the night, for surprise training, had raised several objections. Still, it'd been funny when the guy'd thrown a pillow at him as a form of defense. It's a shame Grigs' reflexes had kicked in, and his leg had also kicked in, and that's how the pillow turned into feathers- but that's neither here nor there. The guy finishes speaking, and Elfie adds on about not killing Weazil for no reason, something Grigs can get behind. He sets his plate down, empty. "Seconds please! And no killing friendly goblin hoard." Grigs would have to punch a lot of people, and, besides, who knows how many armies he'd need to beat up to bring that many goblins back to life!

...not that he objects, but, he likes more variety in his opponents.

Matthew tries his best to avoid any noticable reaction, as the loud, shrill voice calls his name.

So she noticed me all the way over here. Should've gone to the other side of the island...

With a sigh, he hops down from his vantage point, landing closer to the cleric... but not too close. He doesn't need her clinging to him, nor does he feel like being dragged around all day. Again.

Sticking a finger in his ear, the thief looks pointedly away. "See, I would do that, if I had the time, but I'm in the middle of very important work, so I'm afraid I'd end up letting you down. And that'd be a travesty... ahem. However, THIS fine gentleman is far more intelligent and sophisticated than I am- surely he's the sort who wouldn't bring any shame when seen with a noble young maiden such as yourself!"

With a sly grin, he slips behind Erk, gently shoving the poor young mage in Serra's direction. "Isn't that right, Erk? I know you'd love another opportunity to spend some quality time with that she-devil- I mean, that beautiful woman, right?"

Before the purple-haired youth can respond, or shoot him with a lightning bolt, Matthew throws down a capsule that explodes into smoke, darting behind a tree and praying to whatever gods might be listening that she hadn't noticed his hiding place.

Matthew sits atop a nearby hill, staring out at the water. “Divine. Fell. Dragons. Gods.”

“How boring.”

Hopping to his feet, the thief flicks his blade free from its sheath, staring at the glistening steel with one eye. His other trails the fourteen other figures he’d been met with upon waking. “Well, I’ve never been one for combat anyway,” he sighs, twirling the blade through the air letting it slam back into its resting place.

For a long, almost serene moment, he stands in place, listening to the faint echo of the words that had reached his heart and mind. He speaks, a single word, etched in sadness- almost too quiet to be heard.

The thief lids his eyes. “I know things are going to get messy. It’s how these debacles always end up. Still, for House Ostia, Lord Hector... and for you, my love. I’ll see it through to the end.”

Hmm. That’ll be very interesting. I’ll look forward to using my metagame knowledge of whichever character I get, to act entirely different to what people expect~

What do you mean I’m just a paper bag?!

Anatoly Petrov closes his eyes, listening to the cascade of voices as each of his friends and allies state their opinion.

Eli, Yuki, Phillip, Steiner, Takumi, Azami; his fellow Pilots.

Rabbit, Gerard, Darius, Sachiko.

Everyone's here.

They each offer their insight, and, on the surface, the plan they build together has no flaws. This doesn't make it perfect, but perhaps it carries as much chance of success as they can possibly create. He smiles, calmly. Each of them gives him much to be proud of- all of his friends, they've grown and learned so much, in such a short amount of time. Not because they'd been forced to figure it out or die where they stood, but because they all had each other to fight alongside, slowly molding from a ragtag group of solitary Eva to a team so effective even the Gods would tremble to stand before them.

He knows he isn't as strong as they are, but he's going to fight- to stand beside them and push them that last little bit across the goalline, if at all possible. Knowing these intentions to be true and worthwhile, he doesn't need to think on Steiner's question.

"I'll deploy ready to engage directly," he states, feeling the familiar sensation of taking in LCL with each word. It might be better to begin combat further away, easier to remove himself from the line of danger- but he has no reason to do that. He trusts the others, trusts Idumea, implicitly, and they're going to get through this, alive, and well, like they always have. Besides, if he can soak up a few hits that might hurt one of his friends, that's all the better.

Something in the deepest part of his brain says that something isn't right. He isn't thinking straight, or comprehending properly. The Russian just turns away from it, staring absently into the screen, taking in the destruction awaiting them. Everything will be fine, he affirms himself. We just need to win.

"You will need a bit more than a handful of people to break a mage out of templar custody." The Tiefling regards Grigs, who, for his part, just grins.

In the Infernal tongue he responds, somehow coming across as both playful and serious at once. "I think... that is entirely debatable."

His attention is drawn away soon enough, however, by the mention of food, his grin widening. He knew Byron would come through! Still, he takes a second to study the new, older guy that showed up. He looks... really cool! Grigs hasn't met many Dragonborn, but they've tended toward good opponents, and this man holds himself well in spite of his age. He thinks they'll make good friends.

This is only backed up by the... Nidoran? The Grandmaster thingy, leading them on without wasting any time. Right to the meal, everything else can come later! Without hesitation, Grigs rushes along to join the path toward dinner, heavy footfalls sending a minute tremble through the floor as he goes.

Once they're seated at the table, they're introduced to a lot of people! Several of which he already knows, but also a Sicarius. He's heard that word a lot lately, it seems. Weren't they talking about that before? Well, there are also the parting words he and his enigmatic rescuer/rescuee had shared. He hadn't quite forgotten the name spoken there.

Still, he doesn't see any reason to be upset with that guy there. Considering they're sharing a table and meal with him, he's probably fine. Anyway, it becomes clear soon enough that he doesn't really like the bad guy Sicariuses, only the good guy ones. It's better than the opposite, but Grigs thinks it'd be cool if they all sit down and relax, rather than fighting about silly things- especially seeing as they're family and such!

That's about all the thought he affords the situation- honestly more than one could reasonably expect from the giant- looking around the room to find what's waiting to meet his stomach. He's exceedingly disappointed when nothing reveals itself. Still, he tempers his hunger long enough to pay attention, calling out "Grigs!" as they're asked for their names. "Nice to meet you!" He gives the man a very excited handshake that doesn't quite rip his hand off.

"Hmm. What happened?" Grigs speaks again as soon as the request for summary is voiced. "Well, I found a big wall, couldn't get through it, so I tried punching it, but that didn't work either. Then I hit this lady really hard and a bunch of goblins came out and shot me until I died." Grigs pauses, looking around to see if food has shown up yet. "Oh, right, I came back to life, recruited my best goblin buddy to help, and we all killed this really big eyeball zombie! It was fun. Too bad that other guy disappeared though. Would'a been fun to fight him too."

With that, Grigs goes silent, pleased with his explanation of events. Surely everyone else will be satisfied with this as well! He reaches out to grab a plate as they're brought, entirely oblivious to the fact they're not supposed to be eating yet.

Grigs issues his challenge to the elf, only to be met with the sight of his potential opponent, falling over unconscious. Grigs pokes it a few times, but it does nothing. “Guess I won twice,” he says, happily, figuring that he just hit so hard, the air pressure from his attack defeated the elf. That’s probably a thing that happens.

Walking inside, a lot of people are staring at him. Grigs doesn’t really notice, though, sticking a finger in his ear to scratch an itch, and following along, a massive tower shadowing the rest of his group.

Brian heads off to take care of somethin’ or other, Grigs waving him off. “Hope he doesn’t eat without us,” he says, under his breath. Which is, of course, loud enough to compare to regular volume for anybody else.

Now, this Tiefling, though! Well, actually, he doesn’t look like he wants to fight right now, and they’re kinda in the middle of something. Even if Grigs doesn’t understand or care about this stuff much, he knows they do, so he’s won’t interrupt, merely listening. He does kinda enjoy the praise from his comrades, though~

It’s as Sashi finishes discussing her master- whatever that’d be- and what happened to them, Eli chiming in, that Grigs gets an idea. “Hey, we should go break that guy outta jail!” If Sushi likes him, he’s probably nice, and anyway, who knows how many strong guys there’d be guarding the place!

...well, that’s if he’s alive at all. And Grigs does have other rescue missions to deal with, too. Maybe he’d get lucky, and they’re both needing rescued from the same place? He doesn’t really remember where that place he was gonna go to is, though. Well, whatever. He’ll pro’bly remember eventually.

In the meantime, he’ll just keep pretending to listen to people talk about stuff he was already there for. He doesn’t really get what this ‘running’ idea is about, since they can just beat all the bad guys up, instead, so he dismisses the words entirely. Grigs is more than ready to knock some heads! Like his new friend the orc said. He should see if that guy wants to go on an adventure too, now he’s thinks of it...

Cute parodies are nice.

Fate/Evangelion also nice. Lizsuka. Mash would make a good Rei, or maybe I just like her in skintight outfits.

Roman could be Kaji.

Attack Action!

To punch the guy really really hard!

Rolling, a 1 is -1, a 2 is 0, a 3 is +1!

This dice roll has been tampered with!
Rolled 4d3 : 3, 1, 3, 3, total 10

I'll be adding a +3 to whatever this turns out to be, since Grigs is being Forceful!

Updated: November 13, 2017, 06:53:59 am
That's a five I think. Also, if his stunt applies, that counts as a seven instead, but I'll leave that to Dee's discretion.

(Because Grigs has fought bravely against countless stronger enemies, he gets a +2 when he Forcefully charges directly into combat when faced with a seemingly powerful opponent.)

Grigs feels his brain itching, for some reason. Something confusing happened, but he's not sure what. All he's aware of is, he followed the other guys a while, past all kinds of docks and stuff, eventually getting to a set of gates with a couple nice looking guards there. He locks eyes with the bigger of the two, an ork, and his senses tingle- this one'll be fun.

Seems the other guy's got the same idea, getting up, discarding his weapon, and issueing a challenge. Grinning, Grigs lets out an uproarous laugh. "If ya want to see what I can do, I'm more than happy to oblige! Don't go passin' out too soon; gotta show me how tough you are too-"

Grigs' train of thought is interrupted by someone tapping his shoulder. He blinks, pausing in the middle of getting into a fighting pose. Turning only his head, body completely facing the enemy, he peers back, and then down, at the stranger. Julie? Friends? What an odd request- is what someone else might think.

"Sure," Grigs says, smiling broadly. "Sounds like fun! People call me Grigs. Now gimme just a sec, and-" His head twists back to the front, and, as if he hadn't paused at all, his body springs into action, the man barreling forward to cross several meters between him and his target, in an instant. He cocks his fist back, before launching it forward with the strength of a small mountain- right toward the ork's chest!

Updated: November 13, 2017, 07:17:15 am
It all happens quickly.

One moment, Grigs is standing in the back, next to Julie. The next, he's about a dozen feet ahead of the others, his fist impacting the orc's chest dead on- no hesitation, no miscalculation, simply applying the exact force and precision intended.

Time seems to pause for only a moment, the two combatants staring each other down. However, the force of the impact refuses to be halted, Grigs' fist continuing onward and forcing the orc out of the space it wishes to occupy. The enemy may scream, they may cry, and they may pass out; whatever they're capable of, it does nothing to stop their body flying back at breakneck pace, slamming into the gate, blasting it open, and continuing on to skid the ground, finally falling to rest in a heap, several feet inside.

"Huh. Was that good enough?" Grigs stares at the hopefully conscious man, wondering if he'll still be able to fight. After a moment, he shrugs, figuring it'll take him a bit to get on his feet no matter what. He turns back to the rest of the group, looking at Brain. "Gate's open! Can pro'bly go in now."

His then remembers his newest friend, turning toward the smaller girl huddled in the back. "Oh hey you should come too, it'll be fun!" If he were closer, he'd doubtlessly pick her up and carry her along regardless, but this way she might have a chance to escape... maybe.

Just then, he remembers that the orc wasn't the only guard there! Perhaps this other guy could be fun, too. He smiles happily down at the elf, rolling his shoulders. "Hey, you wanna go too?" While not trying to be intimidating, it's rather a moot point after what had just happened.

Pent and Hector. This is shaping up to be a very nice FE7 roleplay.

Matthew would be very interested in working with his Lord, as well.

Though Nephenee is also pretty cute.

Grigs stretches, working the kinks out his his body and limbs. It’s been way too long since he got to move around this freely.

The only question is, what to do now?

He doesn’t really get all this politics, nor which group stands for what, exactly. At the same time, he has some stuff to do himself.

Come to think of it, he ain’t really sure how he ended up coming along here. Well, it’d certainly seemed fun! He managed to duel against a bunch of neat people on the way over, so it’s probably fine.

“Hmm... we could probably handle it ourselves,” Grigs says, casually. Sure, last time he tried doing that, he just ended up dying (a little) but still. He knows that isn’t really what everyone else is going for, though.

“But I’m good with whatever, long as whoever helps doesn’t steal the best fights!” He grins, slamming his fists together. Patting Brian... Byron? Brain? He pats the man on the back, softly. To a subjective degree of ‘soft’. “Hey, when we’re done, we should get somethin’ to eat!”

He always did like the guy, and he’s sure he’ll know the best places for good food. Probably goes with the territory in his line of work! ...that’s probably how it works. Probably.
