Probably the best way to describe Honkai Impact is that it's a bit like a mobile version of Bayonetta.

It's a 3D beat-em-up, with strong emphasis on evading enemy attacks with the right timing. It makes up for the lack of Bayonetta's depth in combos with a far larger variety of characters that have different skill sets, as well as typically having you deploy in teams of 3 characters (so you can switch between them as needed).

Probably the best part of Honkai Impact is that virtually all characters are farmable through getting "fragments" missions and events, and you can keep increasing their rank by farming more fragments (from B rank to SSS, super rares you can summon from gacha tops out at S rank).

... Made even better by the gacha having a very generous "pity timer", where every banner is guaranteed to give you an A rank character for every 10 summons INCLUSIVE of single summons. So if you do a 10 summon, get an A rank with the second roll but no more characters for the rest, just another 2 single summons on the same banner will guarantee you another A rank.

Oh, also much like Bayonetta, some of the daily missions and even story missions will incorporate surprisingly varied mini-games, such as side scrolling platforming and shoot-em-up.

Installed it (using a US region account, which I previously set up for FGO). Played it for a few hours in total over a day. Uninstalled it.

The interface just feels pointlessly clunky, when I’m used to games like FGO and Honkai Impact allowing you to adjust your equipment just before going into a mission, instead of having to go back to the main menu every single damned time. An auto-equip of highest rarity equipment to the ships currently assigned to your fleets would have also been nice. The game also gets repetitive fast, requiring you to grind on the same maps over and over to level your ships up, before you can really proceed.

But yeah, when it comes to real-time mobile games that actually requires your attention to play, I feel like Honkai Impact is just a far more valuable use of your play time.

The Halloween re-run (assuming it doesn't get skipped) should guarantee 20 bones in its event shop. Otherwise, I think they should be decently farmable during the Prisma Illya event.

Caution? Thrown to the winds.

Between the event's story and trying her out as an NPC support, I had so much fun with Martha that I went and had a bit of a whaling session on my main account, getting her to NP5 while she was on rate-up.

Picking up 2 copies of Squirtoria along the way.

Now I just need 2 more grails, bucket loads of EXP cards, and even more bucket loads of QP, and I'll eventually get her to level 100.

Just performing necromancy on this thread because the English demo for Valkyria Chronicles 4 is out, in case anybody missed news about it.

Iíve downloaded and played it on the Switch, and Iím so happy with what Iíve played so far, with everything feeling like a true sequel (simu-quel?) to the original Valkyria Chronicles weíve been waiting for (in all the right places), that I went and put down a preorder for it before even finishing the demo contents... The save game of which will carry over to the actual release, as well as unlocking a bonus accessory for it.

Also, from what Iíve read the game is locked to 30fps on all platforms and nothing that really pushes the boundaries in terms of graphics, so other than a few minor visual details, youíd get basically the same game on all versions. Which means the portability and convenience of the Switch version wins hands down for me.

Seeing as I have yet to do much of anything in it and have little desire to do so currently, I think I've given up on the Summer event this time around. Still too weak to clear stuff quickly or easily, so better to just promote and level people.
I think just the main story quests and daily 1 AP quests should give you a good portion (or maybe even the majority) of the building materials you'd need for at least one build tree?

If nothing else, that's a relatively easy way to get yourself around 300 mana prisms from each part of the event.

Of course, even putting aside Squirtoria as a limited servant, Chloe should be arriving within a few more weeks. At that point, even Orion's place as a general utility single target Arts archer (with an Evade skill) will be challenged.

I spent about 270 quartz and a ticket on my alt account after my previous post, got "spooked" by Orion, before I got a TamaLancer.

Two 5* man-killers in a single summoning session. Is my alt account trying to tell me something? :-[
15 tickets and leftover quartz later, Squirtoria (and Summer Marie) on my alt account, while nothing but a couple of event gacha CEs on my main. Good bad luck, or bad good luck?

An acquaintance spent almost 1800 trying to get TamaLancer. Got her in the end, but yeah... that's not something you want to be doing if you aren't wealthy.
Wait, 1800 quartz chasing NP5? Or to just get one copy of TamaLancer to drop? If it's the latter, that's some harsh RNG luck.

With 17 quartz and 1 ticket on my main account, I just rolled a single-target NP gold summer Lancer.

... Lancer Kiyohime, of course.

On the bright side, I did get the Pirate Party CE too.

Burned all of my stockpiled tickets and quartz on the *cough* Tituria banner like a dope because I really wanted an NP self-charging AOE Lancer on my main account (after missing out on Karna), and I'm an idiot who forgot until after the fact that we're getting Santa Lily as welfare later this year.

At least the handful of 5* CEs I got helped me limit break some that had been sitting idle.

Then, of course, I just had to use the 1/2 AP cost for Free Quests as an excuse to keep throwing more quartz at the banner, and keep kicking myself for getting mediocre 3*/4* CEs instead of saving up for the Summer event.
But seeing this totally makes up for the previous minor disappointments:

Now Iím stuck endlessly farming Royal Castle for medals. Plssendhelp

Super and Great Success x3 rate-up = x3 times even more likely that youíd get Super or Great Success when youíre already going to hit current level cap anyway!

Saber Altria.

... Well, that might be good if they ever strengthen her with Avalon, some 3~4 years from now (i.e. don't bet on it), lol.

AKA, I'm going to be stuck farming chains for the next month.
The good news is that as long as you level up her first two skills a bit, she practically covers the last two waves of Wasteland farming by herself.

Phew. It was a pain and a half, but I finished farming ascension mats for Nito and leveled her up to 80. Also farmed all the mats I need to max ascend Ozy on my main, so I'll level him up as my AP recharges over the next few days.

As for their skills... Eh, I'll probably just wait for events to get the necessary materials.

Of course itís my alternative account that effortlessly rolls both of the two 4* characters I was trying to get on my main account, lol.

Well, my alt account (with only Halloween Liz and Medea as levelled up Casters) could probably benefit a lot more from Nito than my main, so I suppose that works too.
