The Hyperspace Scummies Awards:  (based on mafiascum.net's annual Scummies awards: http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Scummies)

The Last Word:  This prize goes to the best farewell post made by a dead player.  This award is given to Pal for his performance as Cosette, Independent Serial Killer in Sunrider Mafia!
http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1293.msg42156#msg42156

I'm (Not) Batman!:  This prize goes to the worse vigilante play seen on the forums so far.  This award is given to Whalecow for his performance as Henry, Town-Aligned Vigilante in Fire Emblem Mafia!
Marx-93 [Aug 28, 2015, 12:47:54 PM]:   Oh, (whalecow) kill(ed) three other (townies) including one that everyone was sure was town thinking his skill would be blocked while his skill was per definition unblockable

Commedia dell'Arte:  This prize goes to the best improvisation and role playing by a player for a character seen on the forums so far.  This award is given to The Nothing for his outrageously amazing, appropriate, and hilarious portrayal of Kellam in Fire Emblem Mafia!
Elvis Strunk: The Nothing was... some guy named Kellam.

The Great Dictator:  This prize goes to the best evil speech made by a mafia member to the town, be it in victory or defeat.  This award is given to Marx-93 for his final speech as Veniczar Fontana in Sunrider Mafia!
http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1293.msg43105#msg43105

RoboCop:  This prize goes to the outstanding performances as a detective or cop role.  This award is given to Verthand for his role as Frederick, Knight Commander of the Shepherds and his streak of unprecedented luck in detecting mafia on night 1 and 2 before dying on night 3, being more or less responsible in some way (even in death) for every one of the town's leads on mafia.  This award is also given to GreyCat for her role as Town-Aligned Enforcer in Waifu mafia.  GreyCat detected a total of 1 independents (waifu stealer), and 3 mafia over the course of 5 nights.  We won't mention the innocent penguin she shot and killed on the end of Day 5 in drunken rage.
"Serve the public trust, protect the innocent, uphold the law." -RoboCop

Red Shirt:  This prize goes to the player who is killed most frequently on night 1 on the forums so far.  This award is given to mrgw4 for dying on night 1 in Sunrider Mafia as Kryska Stares, Town-Aligned Tracker, and in Mass Effect Mafia as Mordin Solus, Town-Aligned Scientist.  The award is also shared by merne23 for dying on night 1 in Fire Emblem Mafia as Robin, Town-Aligned Avatar, and in Valkyria Chronicles Mafia as Maximilian, Empire-Aligned Bastard Prince and Nightspeaker.  The undisputed Redshirt Leader, however, is Arraxis for being preemptively eliminated in Mass Effect Mafia as Tali vas Normandy, Town-Aligned Roleblocker, Code Geass Mafia as Lelouche Lamperouge, Mafia-Aligned Godfather, Kancolle Mafia as Tenryuu, IJN-Aligned Vigilante, and in Phoenix Wright Mafia as Thalassa Gramarye, town-aligned Mason.
Kirk: All right, men, this is a dangerous mission. And it's likely one of us will be killed. The landing party will consist of myself, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy, and Ensign Ricky.
Ensign Ricky: Aw, crap.  -Family Guy

Spidey Sense:  This prize goes to the player who has shown unerring and unnerving gut instinct in hunting and killing mafia.  This award is given to Elvis Strunk for his performance as Icari Isidolde, Town-Aligned Vigilante during his one-man crusade against the mafia (and Sophita Brooks).  Not always for a rational reason and not always with basis, Elvis galvanized the town to defeat the mafia by rallying other townies behind him for lynches and taking justice into his own hands.  This award is also shared by WhyBuy for his role as Town-Aligned Vigilante in waifu mafia, with a 1 indie kill, 1 mafia kill, and 2 townie kills (one of which was unintentional and the result of a misdirection.  Had WhyBuy actually made his intended kill, he would have killed another mafioso).
"With great power there must also come great responsibility." -Stan Lee

The Betty White/Rose Nylund Award:  This prize goes to the town player most led astray by the mafia on the forums thus far.  This award is given to WeAreTheMeta for his performance as Garrus Vakarian, Town-Aligned Vigilante in Mass Effect Mafia.  Meta was convinced by Wooly (mafia strongman) to fully trust him and to use a vigilante kill on fellow townie ShadowX on night 3 and lynch fellow townie Pal on day 4 (with a hammer vote no less), ultimately leading to an overwhelming mafia victory.  Meta was then blown out an airlock by Wooly at the game's conclusion.
"Hello. What? I'm one of the winners of the Publisher's Clearing House? Ed McMahon wants to see me right away? I should leave my Burt Reynolds ticket on the dresser before I go?" -Rose Nylund, The Golden Girls

Suicide Mission:  This prize goes to the GM who orchestrated the bloodiest game of mafia on the forums thus far.  This award is given to mrgw4 who presided over Hyperspace Forums Mafia.  Out of 20 initial players, only two independents survived to the game's conclusion, having vanquished the entirety of the mafia and town factions.  Also of note, the award was previously held by GamerJunkie27 who presided over (fittingly enough) Mass Effect Mafia.  Out of 15 initial players, only four survived to the game's conclusion; all mafia.  The remaining 10 townies and 1 indie were killed over the course of the game or executed by Wooly at the game's brutal conclusion.
"The chances of survival are... slim." -Mass Effect 2

Dream Team:  This prize goes to the first mafia team to achieve flawless victory.  This award is given to the Cerberus mafia from Mass Effect Mafia: The Nothing (Illusive Man, Godfather), Jynx (Oleg Petrovsky, Role Blocker), Verthand (Henry Lawson, Janitor), and woolyshambler (Kai Leng, Strongman).
"People always say turn the other cheek.  If you turn the other cheek, I'm gonna hit you on the other cheek too." -Charles Barkley, 1992 US Dream Team

Misdirection Master: This prize goes to woolyshambler, for being the most manipulative player so far, playing Kai Leng, mafia hitman, in Mass Effect mafia. Despite almost immediately falling under the scrutiny of the town, woolyshambler led the town on a 2 day ruse in which he pretended to be executing an elaborate feint as town armor to discourage the mafia from targeting him at night.  During this time, he also successfully talked the town down from lynching The Nothing, mafia godfather, leading to a second day of inaction on the town's part.  Having successfully convinced the town he was merely engaging in a ruse, he then assumed Merne23's identity as town doctor after he'd been janitored, further winning the trust of the town and directing them to lynch the independent serial killer and the vigilante to kill a townie that night.  Finally, on the last day of play, woolyshambler successfully goaded said vigilante into lynching one of their remaining players without explanation or planning for the night phase, ultimately dooming the town to victory at the mafia's hand.
"Just as planned." Light Yagami, Death Note

The M(utually)A(ssured)D(eath) Duo: This prize goes to the two players that managed to murder each other during the same night. This award is given to Verthand (playing as Marina, Gallia-Town-Alligned Vigilante) and GamerJunkie27 (playing as Damon, Mafia-Alligned Strongman) in Valkyria Chronicles Mafia. This award is also given to Deeox2 (playing as Asimov, Empire-Town-Alligned Vigilante) and woolyshambler (playing as Augustus, Mafia-Alligned Mayor) in Valkyria Chronicles Mafia.
"The only thing that you and I have in common, Mr. Creedy, is we're both about to die." -V, V for Vendetta

Luke, I am your Father:  This prize goes to the player with the best Dramatic Unmasking of role identity in a game of mafia thus far.  This award is given to Revontulet for his role as Radi Jaeger, Imperial Aligned General in Valkyria Chronicles Mafia and his laugh out loud hilarious reveal.  Combining the irresistible charisma of Jaeger's in-game and anime personalities, some well chosen images and fan art, and his own humorous interpretation of the role, Revontulet captured the essence of his character perfectly, bringing cheer and good spirits to an otherwise dark game.  http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1468.msg57194#msg57194
Harley Quinn: "Ain'tcha gonna take his mask off and find out who he [Batman] is?"
The Joker: "And reduce my primal enemy to a mere man? Harley my dear, I'm so disappointed in you. Where's the fun in that?"
-Batman: The Brave and the Bold

CockBlocker:  This prize goes to John Titor for blocking General Radi Jaeger's nocturnal conquests two nights in a row in VC mafia- prior to the his reveal and subsequent death.  Coincidentally, this block also prevented Jaeger from discovering the role blocker and their alignment on Night 1.
"We shouldn't be cock-blocking McLovin, we should be guiding his cock." -Officer Michaels, Superbad

The Q Award:  This prize goes to the most unpredictable, mind-bending, and generally insane All Powerful mafia game moderator.  This award is given to Whalecow for including bizarre roles such as mafia-aligned double voter/governor, generally making everyone OP (wooden armor detective with mutually assured death condition AND one time mason power), and flying in the face of established mafia game rules (town/mafia ratios, mutually exclusive victory conditions, and not allowing mafia to communicate during the day) to create a game of mafia characterized by its players' love-hate relationship with the game design.
Q: "I'm no longer a member of the Continuum. My superiors have decided to punish me!"
Capt. Picard: "And punish us as well, it would seem."
-Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)

Zero Requiem: This prize goes to the player that singlehandedly stopped the Mafia from achieving victory when everyone else thought all hope was lost. This award goes to Deeox2, for his actions in Valkyria Chronicles Mafia- killing the supposed Empire-Alligned Mayor to even out player votes so that nobody could by Lynched, while also realizing that the game would end if the target were truly Mafia- a flawless victory no matter the outcome.
Joshua: A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?
-WarGames (1983)

Martin Luther King Jr.: This prize goes to the Bard of Waifia, Elvis Strunk.  Having played a completely pacifist mafia game with no votes cast and repeatedly urging that the town and mafia set aside their differences, Elvis was tragically murdered on Night 5 of Waifu mafia.  Elvis's posts during the game set a distinct benchmark for Waifu Mafia's more serious RP posts, pulling at the heartstrings and jerking those tears in all the right ways.  At his final post, made during Day 6's funeral service no less, many a tear were drawn and shed.
Final Night Action (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg62767#msg62767)
Final Post (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg62786#msg62786)
"Yes… It was indeed very simple, and right in front of them the entire time, the key to so many things, to simply trust and forgive. Trusting and forgiving was all they needed to defeat their inner demons… and conquer their suspicions." -Rika Furude, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

The Tony Lark Award:  This prize goes to Waifia's nouveau riche philandering playboy, Revontulet.  A master of tasteful seduction, an Adonis of charm and wit, the man all main-protagonist-kun's look up to, Revontulet's Waifu-Emperor personality brought laughter and joy to an otherwise dark and emotional game of mafia.  Starkly contrasting with the gravitas of Elvis's RP, Revontulet's RP antics provided much needed comic relief with his dinosaur slippers (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg57627#msg57627) (Rawr!), defiling the GM's manor (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg57827#msg57827), ending the Day 1 party (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg58188#msg58188), upstaging the GM by bringing an actual yacht (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg58552#msg58552) into the yacht club, raping questioning WhyBuy's waifu, Imca (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg59898#msg59898), in the bathroom stall of an airplane, having himself a Christmas caroling adventure (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg60899#msg60899) and banging two other waifus on his way home (one of which was the GM's no less), testifying in court (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg62183#msg62183), and finally receiving his just comeuppance (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg62723#msg62723).
"These fists are not the Hammer.  The Hammer is my penis."  -Captain Hammer, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

The Immutable Word of the Law:  This prize goes to Marx-93 and Kana The Boss for using cold logic and hard facts to bring Waifia's mafia to justice.  Both players wrote monstrous text walls of posts, shining light through the misty cloak of intrigue and suspicion that traditionally blinds town players in games of mafia.  Demonstrating deductive logic and a firm grasp of mafia theory, both players played integral roles in hunting down and rallying the town to lynch the mafia godfather and strongman.
"Oh come on Dr. Sherlock, they were accidents!  Yeah, you do your job, and we'll do ours!" -The Andes, Hot Fuzz

The Divorce Scummie:  This prize goes to Arraxis for throwing his own waifu under the bus (and then feeling bad about it).  Backed into the corner by a lynch vote, Arraxis declared that he had been coerced to participate in the game by his waifu (partially true as he was filling in as a replacement at the behest of the GM).  In a moving and surprising twist, his waifu, Medea of Colchis, took her own life with RuleBreaker (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1489.msg62911#msg62911), freeing Arraxis of his mafia alignment, saving his life, and ending the game.  Arraxis would then post a final, repentant goodbye as his waifu died, the only waifu to be slain over the course of the waifu mafia game.

Party At My Place:  This prize goes to GreyCat for being targeted by 7 other players on a single night of mafia, the most on the forums thus far.  A total of 7 players, 2 mafia, 5 townies converged on GreyCat's residence to spy on her yuri ways to protect, support, sabotage, or kill her after her open declaration that she was the town detective on day 2.
"Coincidence?  I think NOT!" -Bernie Kropp, The Incredibles

Takin' You to School:  This prize goes to John Titor for his role as town-aligned bus driver in waifu mafia.  John Titor used his powers on night 2 to swap GreyCat and Meta, preventing the mafia from killing her or any of her protectors and to swap WhyBuy and Arraxis and Kana on nights 4 and 5 respectively to prevent the mafia from redirecting his vigilante kills, perfectly demonstrating the misdirecting and protective roles of a bus driver and making himself a huge pain for waifia's mafia, one they never managed to overcome.
"Take Chances!  Make Mistakes!  Get Messy!" -Ms. Frizzle, The Magic School Bus

A Life of Its Own:  This prize goes to all players who participated in Waifu Mafia (please see game for complete player list) and its GM for collectively organizing and producing the most memorable game of mafia on the forums so far.  Thanks to the creativity and enthusiasm of the 21 forum users who pooled their collective writing and role playing, Waifu mafia evolved from its conception as a simple game of mafia to a whole role play setting in the idyllic town of Waifia and all of the other locations players visited on their antics-filled adventure, complete with drama, tears, and loss as well as joy, laughter, and friendship.  Waifu mafia ended as the fourth most replied to thread on all of the Hyperspace Forums and even spawned a separate daughter RP thread for those who wished to continue role playing in Waifia in a non-life threatening setting.
"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts." -Aristotle

The Night is Dark and Full of Terrors:  This prize goes to mrgw4 for hosting the longest night phase seen on the forums so far.  Night 3 of Hyperspace Mafia had a real life duration of nearly 1 week.
"Death is coming for everyone and everything ... a darkness that will swallow the dawn." -Melisandre, A Song of Ice and Fire

The Benedict Arnold Award:  This prize goes to wearethemeta for playing against his side in almost every game of mafia he has been involved in thus far.  Usually because someone was whispering in his ear (we're not pointing fingers at anyone...  ::)).  In ME mafia, Meta was led astray to become the instrument of the mafia's flawless victory.  In VC mafia, Meta's healing abilities indirectly resulted in numerous town deaths by keeping WoolyShambler, the mafia godfather alive throughout the game.  In Higurashi mafia, Meta's actions also secured the mafia's victory, although he assisted their victory knowingly and within the context of Higurashi's faction "morality reversal."
"Let us remember that a traitor may betray himself and do good that he does not intend." -Gandalf, Lord of the Rings

Spanner in the Works:  This prize goes to Merne23 for standing adamently against the Mafia in their attempts to convert and treat the Town in Higurashi Mafia, culminating in a ruining of their plan as well as what may possibly be the only chance for any Mafia game to ever end without a single death.
"The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference... in the world." -The G-Man, Half-Life 2

Self Loathing:  This prize goes to players who died at the hands of their alter-egos in mrgw4's Hyperspace Mafia.  Pal and WhyBuy were both killed in such a fashion.
“When we don't know who to hate, we hate ourselves.” -Chuck Palahniuk

Misdirection Overflow:  This award goes to Elvis Strunk and WoolyShambler for their independent (lovers) victory in Hyperspace Mafia.  Elvis Strunk (playing as WoolyShambler on the mafia faction) and WoolyShambler (playing as Verthand on the town faction) successfully duped both the town and the mafia into believing that they were both on each other's faction's side, working in tandem to deflect suspicion and redirect lynches and night kills from one another until the game's conclusion as the two only survivors, securing the forum's first independent victory.
'I did warn you all in the commbox that the day Elvis and I teamed up would change mafia forever.' -WoolyShambler

The Purple Heart(s):  This award goes to Marx-93 for thwarting 4 separate mafia attempts on his life in a row before dying to 2 separate unblockable daykills, one mafia, one independent.  Incredible.
"Do we kill Marx again?" "Sure, he must have lowered his guard." Day arrives "Goddammn it." -Marx-93

Armstrong Scummie of Approval:  This award goes to John Titor and Duke Rockhopper for their manliness war in Hyperia.  Bringing the stench of pure testosterone and the sound of epic rap battles to the game, paid homage to manly inspirations from across all of popular culture.  Who won, who can say?  But it's obvious that everyone else lost.
"This Scummie has been passed down the Armstrong line for generations!" -Dubious sources

6th Sense to Kana The Boss for killing Lelouch Vi Britannia, mafia op godfather, as Kallen on the only night he was vulnerable.

Martyr to Duke Rockhopper for indirectly killing one of the most powerful role ever made on this forum, just with his death as Nunnaly Vi Britannia
Raymond Sellars: What's bigger than a hero?
Rick Mattox: A dead hero.
— RoboCop (2014)

Karmic retribution to Arraxis and Marx, for doing the thing that in any mafia would have been a free win (i.e. janitoring the detective on the first night) in the only mafia where it ended up dooming them.  (Curator's Note: "....What?"
"Karma police, arrest this man."
— Radiohead, "Karma Police"

Deceptive Disciple: This award goes to Merne23, as Lancelot in Fate/Stay Alive, for his audacious plan to kill the cult leader... after he was converted.
"Et tu, Brute?" -Julius Caesar, Julius Caesar

Insightful Writer: This award goes to Elvis Strunk (Saber), Revontulet, (Iskandar, King of Conquerors), and Ybuy (Sakura Matou) for their performances in Fate/Stay Alive. Despite initially being unfamiliar with the setting, these three roleplayed their characters with a great deal of accuracy. Special mention goes to Elvis, who continued his roleplaying during his stint as a mafia member within the mafia conversations.
"If you walk down the path that you believe is right, you cannot be wrong." -Shirou Emiya, Fate/Stay Night

Person of Interest: This award goes to Elvis Strunk as Saber in Fate/Stay Alive. Over the course of only three nights, Elvis changed alignments twice; from Town, to Mafia, and finally to Independent. None of these changes were desired.
"What, are you some kind of triple agent?!" -Indiana Jones, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Blast Fishing: This prize goes to one of the most intense RolePlays and probably the fastest claim ever. This award is given to Arraxis, who claimed in his first post (second post in the whole game) and won the Combined Fleet's Great Fishing Festival in KanCollia even though he chose the worst possible item. He was killed on Night 1, but death didn't stop him from RolePlaying. He kept sending plot relevant RP messages to the GM. Fufufu, ya scared?

Deathbringer the Adorable: This prize goes to another fast claim and outstanding RP, both in the public thread and in KanCollia's Mafia private chat. This award is given to Elvis Strunk, who claimed Abyssal right away but was the very last Abyssal (Mafia) to be lynched (because he looked so cute and harmless~)! In fact, he was so harmless (and RP consistent) that he refused to perform a factional kill at all when he was the Mafia's last member.

The Y-Files: This prize goes to the most mystifying theories and side stories ever seen in a game of Mafia. This award is given to Whydidibuytheunionfrigate, whose grim and mysterious theories confused both the GM and the Mafia. In fact, the Mafia couldn't believe he was just a Hider and tried to Janitor kill him, and they failed. KanCollia's GM in person thanks Y-Buy for sharing his interesting theories and showing so much involvement in the game's story.

The Aggro Magnet
The prestigious award for having been killed Night 2 in Sengoku Jidai Mafia, which goes to Woolyshambler, who went without making a single post during his brief period of being alive.

The Bloody Shogun
This award goes to Elvis Strunk for killing 2 mafia as Vigilante and performing a Daykill on the last remaining mafia in Sengoku Jidai Mafia.

The Ninja Master
This award goes to Marx-93 for investigating 3 mafias in a row with his ninjas in Sengoku Jidai Mafia.

RP First, Win later
This award goes to Revontulet, for acting suspicious to everyone and getting killed night 1 solely for his roleplaying in Sengoku Jidai Mafia.

Your land is mine!
This award goes to Whydidibuytheunionfrigate, for holding 4 provinces alone, not allowing anyone else to be named Shogun until the end of Sengoku Jidai Mafia.

For the glory of the Shogun!
Because of his continuous Ashikaga Yoshiaki RP, even within private mafia PMs, this is awarded to Merne23 for his performance in Sengoku Jidai.

Leave at Tone
This award goes to Duke Rockhopper in Sengoku Jidai Mafia, who was absent during his last day of life and was lynched for it,

Too Scummy!
This award goes to Duke Rockhopper, for creating Phoenix Wright Mafia with four Mafia and three Independents (technically four, counting Charlie), causing the ratio of Town to Scum to be almost even.

Hey, look! No hands!
This award goes to Gamerjunkie for not performing a single night action for the entire game and letting his team do all the work, only to be the first of them to die in Phoenix Wright Mafia.
Sci-fi Greg: Uh, Cheerleader, shouldn't you be out, ehhhhh, leading cheers?
Cheerleader: No, I'm more a cheerleader in the way I dress, and in the way I treat other girls.

— Four Gregs

I'm Spartacus!
For his amazing RP (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php/topic,1689.msg78310.html#msg78310) as Dahlia Hawthorne on Day 4, this goes to Merne23.
"There's an old saying: Pretty girls turn heads…I break necks!"
— Lady Sports on Nikki Storm

Flytrap on the wall
This goes to Woolyshambler for the most varied and entertaining posts ever made by a plant in a mafia game. So authentic was his performance that despite having no offensive capabilities whatsoever, he managed to convince the mafia that he was a dangerous threat and had to be eliminated at all costs.
"The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control... and not the other way around."
— Ishiro Serizawa, Godzilla (2014)

Corpse Emperor
This award is for being the first GM Lynched in a forum Mafia game. Revontulet had created an alternate reality in the world of Waifia, much to the displeasure of the players. Almost missing the deadline, Rev was hammervoted at the very end of Day 1 of Waifia 2.
"Death to the false Emperor!" -- Unattributed, Codex: Chaos Space Marines (4th Edition), p. 4

Double-Edged Sword
This award goes to Revontulet for his performance in Death Note Mafia, having blocked Kira from acting multiple times, but blocked the Detective from finding Kira multiple times as well- though it all still paid off in the end, allowing for the complete defeat of the Kira faction.
“But the truth is a double-edged sword; it is a dangerous thing.”
— Michael Scott, The Necromancer

The Mia Sutton
This award goes to Arraxis playing as Misa Amane in Death Note Mafia, managing to perform as well as her contemporary countpart Light would in the role of Kira, and displaying a high level of quick thinking, confusion tactics, and manipulation in an attempt to lead her side to victory, to the point where even the Shinigami would be impressed.
"You humans are so... interesting!"
— Ryuk, Death Note

God of Death
The award goes to Elvis Strunk for the creation and handling of Death Note Mafia as a game that held true to the spirits of both Mafia and Death Note, while creating a fun and engaging experience for all involved.
"You're asking me why? I did it 'cause I was bored."
— Ryuk, Death Note

Maybe merne should get the "Final Dead Lancer" (or "Final Dead Townie") for getting killed in night 1 two times and night 2 one time out of 3 games lol

I'm honored to be on this list... though next time it would be better if it's due to a victory. Being disintegrated to atoms hurt.

Oh, and while with numbers it wasn't that impressive (1 townie and 1 mafia), some recognition to Elvis play as a vigilante in Sunrider mafia would also be good. His instinct was uncanny on that one.

It isn't a worst game player award or a anything like that. Is just meant for someone that due to circumstances, bad luck and maybe a little bit of recklessness ends failing spectacularly at his job. I mean, for example, wooly is very good at mafia, but in the current Mass Effect mafia has failed quite epically in his plans. In the Fire Emblem mafia as a vigilante you basically only killed town, including one of the major leaders that almost everyone believed based on misunderstanding the power of your own role. I mean, if you look it from distance is quite an epic failure, and fairly funny too (if this is like the Scummy awards, almost half the point of this is for the lulz).

Didn't mean for it to sound like "you were a bad player."  I just thought it was a funny award name and the way the game worked out for you was funny as well.  Well, if you'd rather I pull that award.... I don't want anyone to get offended by these silly things...

I nominate myself for the position of "Sadistic GM," for running the bloodiest mafia game we have run yet. Out of 15 people, only the 4 mafia survived, with two of the three remaining townies being killed at the end, and the third's original identity being completely destroyed.

Actually, I kinda suspected that wooly was mafia, specially after a talk at the commbox (heck, in retrospect he was probably sweating fearing that I would let out something that might interfere in his plans) , but it just seemed kinda unreal to me, specially how he was managing for everyone to trust him so easily. Still, it was impressive and I agree with his trophy.

I would like to nominate John Titor, as Claudia in the VC mafia for the Cockblocker Scummie. John was able to continually block an investigative role two nights in a row- prior to the investigator's reveal.  Coincidently, this block also prevented the cop from discovering the role blocker and their alignment on Night 1.

Might as well post this here, since it's about as good/bad a place as any other.
You can read into it whatever tone of voice, inflection, attitude, etc. you wish. I don't care.

Spoiler
Yes, I know "it's just a game." But games are, by definition, supposed to be fun. And quite frankly, I've not been having fun in the mafia games anymore.
I see no reason to continue playing them when people will target me "just 'cause."
Now, if my behavior in game had warranted it, that'd be one thing. But too many times now, I've been attacked for "being suspicious" when I haven't even done anything.
And the only time I actually even tried a hostile action against anyone in a game, I probably would have failed anyway since it was the mafia strongman.
now, if anyone thinks they can convince me to change my mind, you're welcome to try. I'm leaving all mafia games. Have fun finding another innocent target to beat up.

Well... I can only speak to ME and waifu mafia:

ME mafia- your lynch was just part of an overall strategy; nothing personal or otherwise.  It just seemed more likely that meta could be swayed than you.

Waifu mafia- Cat's accusing you on the basis of having detected your alignment.  No way to tell if that's true or false at this point, but you can't exactly say you're being attacked without some kind of reasoning at least.

But all that's besides the point.  Mafia IS supposed to be fun and if you're not having fun, there's no reason to play.  That's really the bottom line.  I'm sorry you feel that way, but thanks for the good times Pal.
Title: Re: The Hyperspace Forum Mafia Hall of Fame/Infamy
Post by: Elvis Strunk on September 14, 2015, 07:12:00 pm
Sorry you feel that way, Pal. If you're not having fun, you shouldn't force yourself to keep playing. I'll remove you from Higurashi Mafia. Don't feel pressured to play. I don't blame you; if I weren't enjoying myself, I'd probably drop out as well. Hope you feel better in the future, and possibly join future Mafia games. I just wanted to let you know that I've liked your performances, and that my killing you in Sunrider Mafia wasn't a personal thing. I apologize if it upset you.
Title: Re: The Hyperspace Forum Mafia Hall of Fame/Infamy
Post by: AkioKlaus on September 14, 2015, 07:53:29 pm
game is in the end all about witch hunt. I prefer one night mafia (aka ultimate werewolf) because it reduces likeliness of people just killing the 'odd one out' because you only have one chance to win. Still comes with the problem that mafia can kill anyone 'just cuz'.

so ive been trying to think of better game for forum, but can't seem to balance between easyness, rp/reading, and fun/difficulty. cuz playing D&D will take forever.
Title: Re: The Hyperspace Forum Mafia Hall of Fame/Infamy
Post by: Marx-93 on September 15, 2015, 04:36:18 am
Well, I feel sad too, but as wooly said, if you're not having fun, better let it go. If you let me say something, maybe it would be better to rest for a while and think about it later? While I had fun, I also ended a bit miffed at the end of my first mafia, so I took a small rest, and then seeing how FE and ME mafias went it made me remember the best parts, so I kinda returned all out.

Ah... well... this is awkward... I didn't think I did fantastic as the Vig, but I thank everyone, Town and Mafia Scum for giving me plenty of info on who to target. The lists made a huge difference between people's life or death (due to the fact that I was too lazy to look up everyone's Waifu) and allowed me to BS my way through the game without having to actually dig for info.

I would also like to thank my Y-Fu, Imca for allowing me to choose very good targets each night, save the last one... If you all didn't know, I chose targets from both my and Imca's perspective and decided which target was more likely to pose a threat. This saved many innocent lives while killing scum, so yeah.

I nominate myself for being either useless or a nuisance for my side in each mafia :
-ME and Higurashi I was townie and helped a lot the mafia victory.
-Waifia, was bulletproof strongman able to become invincible(what do you mean unblockable? I can block it!), didn't kill anyone and was first mafia killed.
-VC, I wasn't a nuisance, but I was completely useless anyways.

Give me my award before I become useful in hyperia dammit!

I nominate Elvis for being utterly deceitful and astoundingly tricky in Hyperspace Mafia.  Someone give this man a snazzy, sexy sounding, and witty scummie.  At the very least he ought to share the manipulation master award.

I also think meta's scummie about backstabbing the town ought to be changed to the puppet scummie.  Yet again he falls prey, this time to two WoolyShamblers in the same game no less!

super appropriate for the situation too considering we had to play both the town and the mafia simultaneously on two fronts.

I think Verth should get something for barely surviving the day only to double kill non townies then get killed for his efforts by another townie.

Lucky blood bath?

Lucky for two non-townies, blood bath for being involved in 3 or more kills/deaths in one night?

I believe a few people also killed/were killed by the people playing as them? Perhaps give them, or the game as a whole, somethin' funny for that.

Night 3, Hyperia: Attacked by SK, Cursed, Investigated, and had karma turned against me. I had no idea you all feared me so much~  And then I sidestep all of this. Topped off, I had the Vig attack the Multi-lived Bus Driver.
Time-traveller Merne: Finally did something useful.

I loved how always, in any sport anime ever, you could just switch the audio and subtitles  to a suitable shonen fighting series and probably nobody would notice the difference.

Supporting the tittle. The fact that were was weird faction that was indie yet not fully indie took me by surprise: as wooly was fully confirmed town I completely trusted him (Elvis and deoox being checked by Meta I didn't exactly trust, but I was a bit careless). Though I'm honored to have been though as a big nuisance: I find ironic that despite the mafia trying to kill me in the night 3 times in the end I died due to a weird day kill.

Of the two only Elvis was mafia. Wooly was in fact town. The thing is that they were "lovers", a hidden allegiance where they win only if the pair is completely alive by the end of the game. And since one is mafia and the other town the only possibility is to kill everyone else besides them. Which they did, Elvis manipulating the mafia and wooly manipulating you the town.

I'd say it's time for a formal explanation! wooly was randomly selected to be Verthand. He was then allowed to choose who would be playing as wooly, and he chose me. We were both Independent, or, to be more accurate, a third faction: Tragic Lovers, made up of just the two of us. We were given two Godfather-like abilities, one to appear as Town, the other to appear as Mafia, which would cause us to appear falsely as those alignments in all cases, including Pal's numbers. We were also given a choice of which of us would take which side, with the knowledge that there were different roles and abilities planned out for Town wooly, Town Vert, Mafia wooly, and Mafia Vert, though we weren't made aware of what they were, as well as the knowledge that whoever chose the Mafia side would be able to communicate with the Mafia as a normal Mafia player would. We also had free and complete communication with each other.

We discussed, and, in the end, decided I would take the Mafia side, while my partner would take the Town side. This likely saved us in a number of ways, as the Vert Mafia role likely wouldn't have had the same abilities, and would have come up as Mafia when investigated. Not to mention, if we had even made it that far, the endgame would have played out differently. Now, one of our first issues was wooly. He was not listed as Mafia to the Mafia, obviously, so I had to come up with a way to keep him alive. I informed the Mafia that he was, in fact, the same faction as us, but because of Verhand's obsession with wooly, could only talk to me. The exchange for this being, we could talk all the time, even at times when the regular Mafia couldn't. I was actually quite surprised that they believed this all the way through. At least until it no longer mattered.

Next, I'll detail Meta's involvement, and just how much he helped. He contacted wooly right away, and gave up his information, which was shared with me, and which I shared with the Mafia, while convincing them not to kill him, since he'd obviously be a useful asset. This also convinced them that wooly was definitely on our side, sharing information so openly, and good information, at that. Finally, this set up the idea that I had to be protected, had to take as few risks as possible, since I was the only connection to wooly, and, by extension, Meta. And then Meta investigated Pal. We had both Detectives, right then and there.

wooly also managed to get information on several other dangerous opponents, thanks to his ability to recieve one role every Night. It was blocked by the curse most times, but we got what we needed from it. For example, we learned exactly what the WhyBuy role could do, and that Verthand was basically the Vigilante and Doctor. This ability also eventually revealed Marx's powers to us, which is why we knew he had a Daykill, which led to me killing him using my Waifu Unleashed. The most difficult part at this stage was actually making sure the Mafia dropped off fast enough to avoid getting a majority, as wooly and I would have lost. Luckily, I had literally all of their information and plans, and the Town jumped at the chance to wipe them out. I feel correctly 'predicting' so much also got me a bit of an alibi, though trust was growing thin all around by the end.

Speaking of. wooly, Pal, Meta, Dee, myself. That was the endgame, and when we knew we'd won. wooly somehow managed to convince Meta to kill Pal. I honestly didn't think he would fall for it, but wooly made the right call. Though we'd tried and failed to kill Pal before, and didn't know if it would work. If it hadn't, it was possible one of us could get Lynched, but we would have had to rely on speed. I manipulated Dee, meaning he would have to vote for Meta that day, followed by wooly and I doing the same, and ending up with the majority of votes the next day, and so on. The only real worry we had was that someone might have had a Vengeful trait, and would have killed one of us after a successful Lynch, which is why wooly and I attempted to vote for Meta before Dee got a chance. I was a bit slow, I believe, so that could have ended badly.

Luckily, no such trait was in play, and we had it all in the bag. We knew there were no more Daykills; they'd have been used. Dee had been hit by another one of my Waifu Unleashed powers, taking away all of his role text that last Day, and the Night after: even if he did have a Daykill, Vengeful trait, or anything else, he wouldn't have been able to use it. We would have been able to kill him that night with the "Mafia Kill", which I did have access to, or the following day, by simple voting majority. There was one other time where we could have lost. I was investigated. Now, I said before that I would always appear as Mafia. However, one of my Waifu Unleashed powers (I know, I had so many!) allowed me to pick any person, and have them appear as whoever I want, whatever faction I want. I asked Mergew if I could use this on myself, and he informed me that it would have a fifty percent chance of working, if I did. wooly also tried to block the investigator, but failed due to Dee's curse. However, my ability worked flawlessly, resulting in a perfect alibi, for as long as I needed it. Of course, Meta was the one that told wooly Pal was going to be investigating me that Night.

And this, as a recap, is basically how we won Hyperia. A little luck, and some decent strategy.

To be exact, I intended to kill Pal, then wooly contacted me, and I started to doubt, thinking there was a chance he could somehow be the bad guy even if I investigated him town and all. Then I was like 'No way there are so many godfather, everyone appeared as town, only one mafia left and Pal hasn't been investigated, he has to be the only evil guy left'.
Anyways, I shall rage about that damn hyperia for the century to come

I knew Merne figured it out before the end. Or at least heavily suspected. Part of the reason I helped him die when I did was so he didn't say or do anything that could lead to wooly or myself getting uncovered or killed. Luckily, everyone else in the Mafia had given up by that point, and didn't notice his comments or concerns at all. If Kana had made it deeper into the game, perhaps it would have been more dangerous for us.

Right from the start, I thought you were a Mastermind. When the Mafia won, you would win.
And this belief continued. I was thrown by the connection to Verthund, but after he was confirmed Town I was just like "Wooly's just getting one pulled over by the Mastermind." To be fair, I wanted to kill someone squishy, and had considered several times just having Geam'r cannibalize you. And then I died, because the mob had turned against me.

Actually, wooly wasn't random: we knew that one of the town was a vampire, and from lore reasons Suzaku seemed the most likely (a janitoring on the first day is just so useful...): We actually didn't even choose to perform the kill, but rather specifically sent Lelouch to talk to him.

Whaaaa? I did that much damage?... Huh... I guess I fulfilled my goal in trying to break every game I'm in...

Mm, Rev wanted to kill Meta, to get rid of the Tracker and cover out tracks. I convinced him to go for you instead, because of the logic that 'someone has to be the Detective', and most people had already revealed an ability. Merne being the actual Detective never crossed my mind, because he already had an ability that was pretty much completely confirmed- especially since he used it on me! I didn't think outside the box enough... sure, there were some other potential targets, but you had done just enough to seem most suspicious. And I figured if you were lying it would make good roleplaying potential~ But, I really did mess up. Meta surviving got Rev killed, and he'd gained an ability allowing him to kill two people in one night. I can't say for sure we would have won, but I can say if the chance did exist, I killed it.

For Sengoku JiMafia:

Duke Rockhopper: Leave at Tone
For AFK'ing on the last Day he was alive, and getting Lynched because of it.

For Wrightfia (if I may):

Duke Rockhopper: Too Many Scum!
Making a game with three Independents (technically four, if you want to count Charlie) and four Mafia, bringing the game to an almost balance of Scum to Town.

Current nominations for Wrighfia:

GamerJunkie27: Look, no hands!
For not performing a single night action for the entire game and letting his team do all the work, only to be the first of them to die.
Sci-fi Greg: Uh, Cheerleader, shouldn't you be out, ehhhhh, leading cheers?
Cheerleader: No, I'm more a cheerleader in the way I dress, and in the way I treat other girls.

— Four Gregs

Merne23: I'm Spartacus!
For his amazing RP (http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php/topic,1689.msg78310.html#msg78310) as Dahlia Hawthorne on Day 4.
"There's an old saying: Pretty girls turn heads…I break necks!"
— Lady Sports on Nikki Storm

Woolyshambler: Flytrap on the wall
For the most varied and entertaining posts ever made by a plant in a mafia game. So authentic was his performance that despite having no offensive capabilities whatsoever, he managed to convince the mafia that he was a dangerous threat and had to be eliminated at all costs.
"The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control... and not the other way around."

I officially nominate Rev for the award "Corpse Emperor".

Corpse Emperor: This award is for being the first GM Lynched in a forum Mafia game. Revontulet had created an alternate reality in the world of Waifia, much to the upset of the players. Almost missing the deadline, Rev was hammervoted at the very end of Day 1 of Waifia 2.

Gee, wouldn't have guessed it was based on your personal tastes...

I kinna disagree with the creation of the award only because it's not THAT special. (GMs shouldn't be a target for lynching...) Rev just happened to place a twist on the joke lynch train that we always wanted.

Why you ask? Because its the WRONG type of Feels (of course!). So while I await the return and sweet embrace of my super hot waifu- I, Revontulet, the protagonist of this story, have taken it upon myself to entertain you all with a short holiday bedtime story from my collection of  mahogany bound masterpieces.  So without further ado....I give you...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9Uf1SYr7E4

T'was The Night Before Waifia

T'was the night before Waifia – Kasane Teto singing with her band,
The townies were still stirring, when the Protagonist-kun decided to take command.

Donning his RAWRsome slippers (after a couple whiskeys and brews a few..),
He set out for the town square, in hopes that Sachi would be there too.

That maido would surely want to "wrestle" with him in her gingerbread bed,
For Rev is both dashing and charming, and he certainly had visions of her sugar-plums dancing in his head.

But Lo! Poor Megaman Mergew, such an unfortunate chap,
Once Sachi had a taste of Rev, he would just have to settle for seconds - or a enjoy a long winter’s fap!

Yet when out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
~Nipah!” sprang forth a girl, who's chest could not be flatter.

Her cuteness drew Rev in, so with a smile he flew towards the little miko with a FLASH,
Just like Elvis- I can see myself in a little loli – but should I worry about getting diaper rash?

The thought quickly subsided as the moon shone full on the bare breasts of Hanako,
Vert (he swears she loves it!) fondling her privies, as the two rolled around in the cold snow.

When, what to Rev's wondering eyes should just miraculously appear,
But a pink haired flugel, with a fantastic rear!

Jibril my dear, I cannot trade a caterpillar with fuzz so thick
But what I do have might very much impress you, would you like to see my d-

BAM! More rapid than expected did Cherche and her wyvern coursers came,
Titor, the cockblocker scum shouting violently – calling me by my name!

And out came Deeox!! And Dokker! And Ava glaring for a lynch'n!
Here came Cat, and an angry Cordelia! Did you see Misato in THAT dress....*whistles* damn what a vixen!

Fearing their intent he flew to the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
Megaplayboy ring "Activate" -Nin Nin ~ Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away from them all!"

And in his rush, who should Rev perchance spy?
Sad, and alone - a ship out of the water. I decided to cheer her up -  and mount Sendai.

So commenced a vicious night battle - rockets, ordinance, and fairy recon planes flew,
But in the end she failed to watch her rear integrity, and my torpedo struck true.

And then, after coitus grinning, Rev was bashed with a great OOF!
But who - his hands pawing around on the ground, his eyes closed focusing on some distant gingerbread roof.

As Rev drew up his head, his vision eventually coming around,
He couldn't help notice all the leather, upon him tightly bound!

There before him was Laura, with a look very savage,
"I heard you are a REAL man, so I'm yours to fully ravage!"

(Although he preferred Lingyin) Rev knew he should not hold back,
From the looks of Laura's "toys", a moment's reluctance would be met with a leather whip's CRACK!

Her eyes-how they twinkled! Her cheeks bright red as a cherry!
Her body fully exposed, so Rev decided to perform for her his patented hip thrust Hail Mary!

Her little mouth was drawn open, feeling cries of pleasure she did not know,
Rev felt pity for her then, realizing what must be her usual bedroom status quo.

Sweaty and satisfied, Laura curled up into a deep peaceful sleep,
So seeing his chance to exit, Rev snuck out her cottage without so much as a peep.

Rev headed home, now bored, and turned on the telly,
Know what would also be fun? Rev changed his AdEva stats to far surpass Eli!

What else was there to do in this Christmas town he thought, but bang a hot elf?
Content with his new plans, Rev laughed in spite of himself!

But just then he heard an audible sigh, a quick twist of his head,
Before him stood a man, and so Revlet's life flashed before him with sudden DREAD!

Wooly spoke not a word, but with his GM Hammer he went straight to work,
And smote Rev HARD, man.... what a jerk!

Laying in a pool of blood, Rev gasped between each of the numerous blows,
Hadn't Wooly heard, bros before ho ho hos?!

Tiring, Wooly sprang from the fray, and gave the townies their yearned for PM whistle,
And quickly disappeared upon the horizon, much like a precision guided missile.

But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Waifia to all, and an end to the long Night!"

I think the quote that could be attached to "For the Glory of the Shogun" could be one of these:

"When the sword is once drawn, the passions of men observe no bounds of moderation."
~Alexander Hamilton, US Secretary of the Treasury, economist, and political theorist

"Pride, the never failing vice of fools."
~Alexander Pope, English poet

"Duty is heavier than iron, yet death is lighter than a feather."

We're still missing the Waifia 2 awards.

And concerning the Hyperia 2 awards:

I propose mrgw again for the "The Night is dark and full of horrors" for beating his previous record on the Longest Night in a mafia game.

It lasted 1 friggin month. I thought mrgw had moved to the North Pole  or something.

I'd like to call it "the night of the long knives." But maybe that could be used for something a bit more fitting for the reference.

We're still missing the Waifia 2 awards.

Neppia awards are pending, too, to be honest. (´・ω・`)
I'll post them right after the Waifia 2 ones.

Well, I know two nights of the long knives. This one (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_of_the_Long_Knives) and this one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiyGgFV8kik).

I demand the fastest kill streak award in Bastard Mafia! I killed 4 ppl in total (Merne, Arraxis, Elvis and Geo), in 4 nights in a row, and 3 of them in a gap of 40h30 real hours:

Night 5 started in October 25, 03h59 am (killed Arraxis), Night 6 in October 26, 12h52 am (killed Elvis) and Night 7 in October 26, 8h30 pm (killed Geo). A kill each 13h30 in average! *Stab stab stab* :P

And we should award Deeox too for the shortest day ever, day 7 lasted 24 minutes. Noone ever going to break that record lol

I think there were a few nominations for Death Note Mafia too that ought to be considered.

Added a few~ Hope they're somewhat decent. Also added Bastard Mafia to the list of completed games, congratulations on having a game with no survivors~

Honestly it's far more amusing to try every new mechanic in a game. Statistically speaking, when you activate weird powers, the majority of players are equally confused and thus are set upon equal footing.
