Other Games / Fate/Grand Order
« on: June 26, 2017, 10:35:41 pm »
As some of you are already aware, the mobile game Fate/Grand Order has gotten a US release. For those of you who are new to the game, welcome to hell. The early game is hardest due to lack of access to ascension materials. If you can miraculously roll a Jeanne, you'll be good for a while. She's currently the only servant who you can max level right now, since she only needs servant pieces and monuments. Skills will also eat up your mats, so watch your stocks. Our first limited Servant should be Gilgamesh and should be coming relatively soon. The first actual event with story will be the Moon Goddess event, featuring Orion's permanent addition to the summoning pool, bringing Artemis' giant tiddies with him.

Here's a few tips for you:
As of now, there are currently only 5 permanent SSRs in the gacha. Artoria, Attila, Jeanne, Waver, and Vlad III. If you want any of those (Lookin' at you, Rev), now would be the time to whale for them. Even if they are going to be lackluster compared to later servants.

Waver supports are your friend, especially if he's been ascended at least once, and most effective with all three of his skills unlocked. All his skills give boosts to NP gauge. His first skill (Critical damage up) gives 30% gauge to whoever the target is. His second and third skills (defense and attack up respectively) give 10% across the whole party.

If you put the effort in to raise them, a lot of the bronze servants will still be useful even in the later stages of the game. Hans is a great support caster, Asterios can, with enough NP spam, practically negate all damage done to your entire team. He's been known to do this against one of the bosses in chapter 7.

Siegfried (AKA Sumanai) is also shit.

Gacha rates for gold servants are absolute shit. Prepare for much salt.

Siegfried (AKA Sumanai) is also shit. He'll be good in France because of all the dragons but not much else besides that. Even after two buffs in the JP version he's still not great.

If you get a Herc, and raise him and his skills high, he is one of the best servants in the game, even through the toughest events the game will throw at us.

As for friend IDs, well I guess those should go here too.

Mine is 453,314,890.

Also side note jesus christ there are so many things I dislike about the english version already. Mostly UI things but the translations are not exactly the greatest either.

If you have any specific questions pester me and I'll try to answer them.

Mafia Vortex / Fate/Stay Alive, Day 5: For those who honor the future
« on: December 20, 2015, 07:29:51 am »
In the lake behind Ryuudou Temple, the Holy Grail, twisted into a dark mass, was almost completed. In another world entirely, Gilgamesh and Shirou Emiya fought a battle of their own, both hurling uncountable blades at the other.

Rin struggled to escape the Grail, dragging Shinji with her. The fleshy mass attempted to pull her back into it, along with Shinji. On the shore, Saber looked around for her Master.

“Rin! Where are you? Rin!” Saber calls out.

A voice, very faint, catches her attention.

Saber looks at the mountain of flesh, stepping forward. “Rin…?!”

“...Wait! No, don’t come in, Saber!” Rin frantically shouts.

Saber stops. She clutches her sword tightly, glaring at the mountain of meat while holding up her sword.

"But Rin…!"

“Just don’t! You'll turn into this if you touch the mud. Stay there and get ready to use your Noble Phantasm. This thing will explode soon. Use your Noble Phantasm on it before that happens!”

Saber cannot nod to her master's words.

…She can tell that the lump of meat is about to hatch.

The squirms are turning into throbs and the mud is spreading ever further.

The lake has turned black, and the mud is spilling onto the ground.

 …That thing is growing.

The world's restraining power will be activated if that thing is left alone.

It is natural for her to destroy it with her holy sword.

 But to do that...

"Please get out, Rin! I can do it once you get out!"

“Yeah. All right, I'll leave it to you. But go ahead and use it if I don't make it out on time.

The contract between us will go away, but you should be fine if Shirou is alive.”

"Do not say such a thing! I do not care. I can handle this curse!" Saber runs to the black mud so she can get to that lump of meat.
“...! Saber, wait!”

Unfortunately, Rin’s command came too late.

Saber’s foot had already touched the black mud. Darkness spread along her body, blackening her armor and leaving her skin pale.

Rin’s command seals were gone.

Off in the distance, Archer looked on in horror. He was powerless to stop this. He could not trace Excalibur, even if he was at full power. Least of all now, after several days with no Master. And first, he would have to deal with whatever Saber had become---

“Stop.”

A voice rang out, penetrating even into Shirou’s Unlimited Blade Works. And the world did as the voice commanded.

A flash of light, originating from the corrupted Grail, expanded outwards, bringing everyone with it.

When everyone’s eyes adjusted to the light, what they saw surprised them. Their surroundings were distinctly that of the Church, the sanctuary for defeated Masters. Everyone was clad in black armor reminiscent of the Fourth War’s Berserker, obscuring their features.

Except for one person.

“Greetings to you all. I am the Ruler-class Servant, summoned by Alaya to keep you from destroying the world. I know that some of you will keep trying to do so on your own. I cannot guess at Alaya’s reasoning, but I have been ordered not to interfere directly with your affairs during the night. Should you require any clarification, simply ask and I will answer as best as I can. Good luck, and try not to die.”

With those words, Ruler astralized, shimmering away into light.

Create n' Share / The Sunrider Groom
« on: August 11, 2015, 11:05:04 am »
Yes, I made this a thing. It's Pal's fault.

There will be a lot of Kayto/Asaga shipping, so for all you Asaga fans: Rejoice!

I'll be putting this on Fanfiction.net as I write more of it.

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11440272/1/The-Sunrider-Groom

A sick boy sat on his bed, playing a visual novel on his holo. The door to his room opened, and his mother entered.

“Hi, honey,” she said.

“Hi, mom,” the boy said in a slightly raspy voice.

She checked his temperature.

“You feeling any better?” She asked him.

“A little bit.”

She patted him on the back and said, “Guess what?”

“What?”

“Your grandfather is here.”

“Mom, can’t you tell him I’m sick?”

“You’re sick? That’s why he’s here.”

“He’ll pinch my cheek. I hate that.”

“Maybe he won’t.”

The door burst open once again, and said grandfather entered the room.

“Hey! How’s the sick? Huh?” He said, pinching the boy’s cheek as the boy rolled his eyes at his mother.

She sighed. “I think I’ll leave you two pals alone,” she said, before exiting the room.

“I brought you a present.” The grandfather said, handing the boy a package.

“What is it?” he asked, tearing the outer wrappings off., revealing… “A book?”

“That’s right. When I was your age, Visual Novels were called books. And this is a special book. It’s the book my father used to read to me when I was sick, and I used to read it to your father. And today, I’m gonna read it to you.”

“Is it any good?”
“Are you kidding? Mechas, fighting, torture, revenge, monsters, revenge, chases, escapes, true love, miracles!”

“...Doesn’t sound too bad. I’ll try and stay awake,” the boy said, shutting off his holo.

“Oh, well, thank you very much. That’s very nice of you,” the grandfather said with just a touch of sarcasm. “Your vote of confidence is overwhelming.”

The grandfather pulled out a pair of reading glasses from his pocket, put them on, opened the book, and started reading.

“The Sunrider Bride. By Samu-kun Morgenstern. Chapter 1.

Asaga was raised in a big city on the planet of Cera. Her favorite pastimes were piloting her Ryder and dragging the manager of the mechanics off on adventures. His name was Kayto, but she never called him that.

Isn’t that a wonderful beginning?”

“Yeah, it’s really good.”

“Nothing gave Asaga more pleasure than taking Kayto on adventures.”

“Mr. Manager, come oooon! There’s adventures to be gone on!”

“B-but I need to-”

“No you don’t, there’s mechanics for that! Come on!”

She never allowed him to refuse an adventure.

“Mr. Manager, I found something really cool! Come with me so we can see it!”

“Just let me fi-”

“Nope! We’re going now before it goes away!”

That day, Kayto was amazed to realize that when she dragged him off on adventures, what she meant was, “I love you.”

And even more amazing was the day he realized that he truly loved her back.

“Mr. Manager? Come to see the moon with me?”
And for the first time, Kayto smiled at her desire for an adventure.

“Okay, Asaga.”

Later that night, at sunset, they leaned in and-

“HOLD IT, HOLD IT.” The boy interjected. “Are you trying to trick me? Where’s the excitement? ...Is this a text-only eroge?”

“Wait. Just wait.”

“When does it get GOOD?”

“Calm down, and let me read.

Asaga had no money for marriage, so she packed a few things and left Cera to seek her fortune in space. It was a very emotional time for Kayto.”

“I fear I’ll never see you again,” Kayto whispered to Asaga.

“Of course you will!” Asaga said excitedly.

“But what if something happens to you?”

“I will always come back for you.” Asaga said, very determined,

“But how can you be sure?” Kayto fretted.

“The Hero of Justice always comes back home. You think there’s a hero leaving home every day?”

The pair shared a quick kiss, before Asaga got into her Ryder and headed into space.

“Asaga never reached her destination. Her carrier was attacked by the Dread Pirate Cosette, who never left captives alive. When Kayto got the news that Asaga was murdered-”

“Murdered by space pirates is good.” The boy interjected.

“-He went into his cabin and shut the door. For days, he neither slept nor ate.”

“I will never love again.” Kayto vowed to himself.

“Five years later, the main square of Cera City was filled with people like never before, waiting to hear Princess Lynn’s chosen husbando-to-be.”

Trumpets blared, announcing the arrival of the royalty. King Jaylor, Veniczar Fontana, and Princess Lynn appeared on a high balcony, flanked by their bodyguards.

Lynn stepped forward, and began to speak.

“My people! A month from now, our country will celebrate the 500th anniversary of our Liberation Day! On that sundown, I shall marry a man who was once a commoner like yourselves! But perhaps… you shall not find him common now! Would you like to meet him?”

The crowd cheered in a resounding affirmative.

“My people… Prince Kayto!”

The trumpets played once again, and Kayto entered the town square on a lower balcony. People bowed at his entrance.

“Kayto’s emptiness consumed him. Although the law of the planet gave Lynn the right to choose her groom, he did not love her. The only joy he found was in a daily cruise, reminiscing about Asaga.”

A few days after the announcement ceremony, Kayto took his personal yacht, the Sunrider, on a short trip to Tydaria and back. However, about halfway to Tydaria, he met a small ship that hailed him over the comms, and he answered. A hologram of a man that had the look of an old war veteran about him appeared, with two younger women at his side. One with long black hair and a sword, and one with short, dark blue hair.

“A word, my good sir? We are but poor, lost independent miners. Is there a comm station nearby?”

“There is nothing nearby. Not for lightyears.”

“Then there will be nobody to hear your distress call!” The man proclaimed, hitting a button Kayto couldn’t see. Suddenly, every system on his ship shut down, and an electrical surge from a nearby control panel struck him, knocking him out.

Two Ryders, piloted by the women, disembarked from the small ship, one yellow and black, the other green and white. Over the comm, the man told them, “Now, remember, you need to plant the evidence implicating PACT in the kidnapping.”

“Why PACT, again?” the short-haired woman asked.
“The nation across the Neutral Rim? The sworn enemies of Cera?” The other woman answered in a sarcastic tone. After the pair retrieved Kayto, putting him in the long-haired woman’s Ryder, the man explained. “Once Cera realizes their prince is missing, they’ll send out a search ship for him along his last known route. They’ll find his ship, drifting in space, with only the body of a PACT officer aboard. The princess will then suspect PACT of abducting her love. When she finds his body dead on New Eden, her suspicions will be totally confirmed.”

“You never said anything about killing the prince! N-not that I care or anything!” The longer-haired woman spoke up.

“We’re starting a war. It’s a prestigious line of work, with a long and glorious tradition.”

“I-I just don’t think it’s right, killing people and implying someone else did it.”

The man’s eyes narrowed. “Did I ask for your opinion, Icari Isidolde? You were NOT hired to provide your opinions, mercenary!”

“I… agree with Icari.” The blue-haired woman spoke up, causing the man to turn his anger on her.

“Oh, Kryska the former spy has spoken! What happens to him is none of your concern. I will kill him if need be!” He turned back to Icari. “And remember this. NEVER forget this. When I found you, you were so drunk out of your mind, you couldn’t even move on your own power!” He turned back to Kryska. “And YOU! Helpless, parentless, hopeless! Do you want me to send you back to where you were? Unemployed, on Ongess?”

The pair landed and began walking back to the ship’s bridge. Icari spoke to Kryska. “That Gray, he can… fuss.” Kryska smirked. “I think he likes to scream at us.” “Probably he means no…. harm.” “He’s really very short on… charm!”

Icari sighed. “You have a great gift for rhyme.”

“Yes, yes.... some of the time.”

This last was uttered as the pair entered the bridge.

“Enough of that!” Gray snapped.

Kryska powered up the sensor terminal.

“Kryska, are there asteroids ahead?” Icari called from her position at the navigation terminal.

“If there are, we’ll all be dead!”

“No more rhymes now, I mean it!” Gray barked.

“Anybody want a peanut?” Kryska snarked.

Gray’s incoherent scream could be heard throughout the ship.

Hi there, victims prospective players! As you should know, this is the third mafia game that will take place here on these forums. This particular game will, of course, be played using the Mass Effect universe, since it’s one of the few things I know well enough to do something like this. For those of you that are newcomers to the forum mafia hijinks, I recommend you read wooly’s explanation here.

http://innomenpro.com/forums/index.php?topic=1413.0

Now, for this particular game, I will need, at minimum, 13 players, preferably 14. However, given the large number of characters in the Mass Effect universe, I can create more character descriptions if needed, so don’t worry about taking up a spot you think someone else wants more. I can always find more characters to add to this game.

If, however, you are set on letting someone else have a spot, you can sign up as a reserve player. If someone has to drop out of the game for whatever reason, I will alert you to this fact and ask if you are still interested in playing. If you choose to accept, I will send you the person’s role text and you will go from there.

For those of you unfamiliar with the universe, but still wish to play, the game wiki does a pretty good job of describing the characters and their personalities.

Other Games / Hunger Games Simulator
« on: June 15, 2015, 05:47:32 pm »
Recently, a friend of mine discovered such a thing exists. Probably because it's the internet.

http://brantsteele.net/hungergames/reaping.php

How it works: This is completely randomized as to who dies and in what order. You can edit participants names and pictures (thank god for that) so you can have battle royales with any of your favorite characters.

Example: I run sims involving the Sunrider cast, mostly taken from the old Waifu poll. Here are my contestants.

District 1: Kayto and Ava
District 2: Gray and Kryska
District 3: Legion and Arcadius
District 4: Cullen and Cosette
District 5: Alliance Battleship captain and Icari
District 6: King Jaylor and Asaga
District 7: Unknown Pilot-kun and Chigara
District 8: Mining Frigate captain and Sophita
District 9: Mochi and Claude
District 10: Ryuvian Cruiser and Sola
District 11: Agamemnon Pilot and Kyoko
District 12: Fontana and Maray

Introduce Yourself! / Hi there!
« on: March 29, 2015, 05:28:33 am »
...I feel like I've been lurking around too much, so maybe I should introduce myself.

I'm Gamerjunkie27 (obviously), most people just refer to me as Gamer. Most of my free time I spend reading, gaming, watching anime, or just derping around. I love anime, but I'm not as much of an anime nut as I could be. Apparently the general consensus among my high school class is that I'm going to take over the world someday with the help of the glorious cat overlords. I might also end up blowing up lots of stuff in the process. I'm going to start studying chemistry once I head off to college next year.

I'm not missing much, am I?
