News and Updates / Re: IDHAS you still alive?
« on: March 12, 2018, 10:19:29 pm »
I'm very much a tired, exhausted zombie, but I do suppose that counts as being alive. Last weekend was the first weekend I've had off in a month, if that explains anything. The last year has been utter feast or famine when it comes to working... However, development has still been continuing across the board as best as I can manage.

RA: Hope has several bonus episodes coming up with the first arc ending soon. A bit of a sneak peek at what is coming up in that episode...

RA: Allegiance's Steam version with the options and a few alternate routes (and deaths) is almost done. Been holding off on the formal announcement until I wasn't trying to see if it is possible to literally work a man to death with desk work.

RA: Judgment's first part, the sequel to Allegiance, is basically just waiting for the backgrounds to get done. The months of unemployment slowed its release down since backgrounds are really, really expensive. Our budget is very dependent on my day jobs.

RA: Fates has been cancelled and revived several times over the last year; too many times to make an official announcement with any reliability. We've repeatedly lost artists and during the long delays, I pretty much told the story I wanted to tell in Allegiance/Judgment and Hope. I've been banging my head against the same wall for so long that... it is hard to explain. I think I've got an artist on-board now who should hopefully get the last of it done. It'll be reduced in scope and more of an episodic release schedule to go alongside Judgment and Hope's releases to keep things moving along. I do not have my release schedule at the moment since I am not at home because of work travel. The hope is to have at least an RA episode release a month for the rest of the year until the completion of the Rising Angels series.

So, the short answer is I am very much alive and trying to get stuff out, but stretched so thin by my day jobs that it is a wonder I haven't keeled over. There is a formal announcement coming with all of my plans, but I have not been home long enough to finish writing it and publishing it.

As a reminder, V-Day may be tomorrow, buuuut the contest goes for another month still.
That's good because I haven't quite finished this Yoi/Jinx/Odessa entry.

I apologize for the lateness of it, but welcome!

I've burned a looooooooot of time into the Persona series. Never finished the first one, but the others have all been played through (sometimes a couple of times like P3 and P4). P4 is the only one where I've gone through every single one of the social links.

We're adding some gameplay for the tournament, so Faye has a bunch of competitor chibi sprites as well. I think it is turning out nice and will be fun.

I can't help but be distracted and think that Odessa is about ready to break her controller pulling on the cord like that.

Speaking of sales, it is the summer sale again. We're putting it up on a big one as celebration for the release of Allegiance to get people out there reading the prequel! We are also doing this big discount with another Sekai game, Highway Blossoms!

News and Updates / Valentine's Day story character poll
« on: January 30, 2017, 10:43:25 pm »
Hey, folks! Since RA: Allegiance and Order of Ataxia are wrapping, I found a little time in my schedule to write a short story for Valentine's Day. What character/pairing would you like the story to be about? It doesn't have to be canon.

Off the price, or off Faye's outfit? ;)
Bit of column A, bit of column B.

The Day of Death's Veil was the day that a virologist from the Katajion Directorship (that's right, there is time-travel/chicken and the egg arguments in the series) unleashed a viral weapon against the people of Earth in 2006. The weapon caused mutations in the body and eroded mental facilities. A Katajion task force went in to attempt to restore order, but suffered sabotage and most ships were considered lost on the planet. While humanity suffered losses during the ordeal and civilization was thrown into chaos, teams of scientists around the world began to work on ways to control and cure the mutated humans. Others fled into space on the fleet that went down on Earth to setup new civilizations outside the burning Earth.

In time, progress was made against the various strains. Using genetic engineering, humanity soon was able to control their mad brethren and worked to bring some semblance of normality back to the world. Many people underwent gene therapy to breed out the less desired physical traits, over time breeding out some of the more “ugly” mutations and genetically making the better ones more appealing. True aliens have yet to be discovered in the universe, though I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't found sooner or later...

Earth is the capital of the Katajion Directorship as they were the ones that manage to secure the homeworld during the revolution. The Raltins setup their capital not too far from the border of their space and the directorship on a world called Voltran. As for the Ryu'llians, I am going to have to dig into my records to find the answer to that one.

Because of the technology and time lost during Death's Veil, the following years at developing a cure, settling new territory, and the dark ages in the era of the United Confederation of Planets, technology isn't that advanced. Most of the advanced things like spaceships are difficult to produce and aren't available in large numbers. That includes things like androids and higher-level function robots. They are there, but they are incredibly uncommon outside of military and wealthy civilian use. Most androids are built as user interfaces with large military vessel systems and their bridge crews.

There are battlesuits used on less hospitable worlds, but they are considered more of a Raltin Empire tech. Katajions prefer a smaller system that allows for higher mobility and utility. As for psionics, they have only been found to be at any sort of measurable level in the people of the  (depending on where in the timeline we are) neutral world of Blueshend. Scientists are still working on discovering if it is something genetic from the lost refugees from Earth who fled there or a cause of the world's environment.

40% of major population centers in Eastern Europe and about 30% of major population centers in North America, as they were the primary focus of the invasion. The former district capitals of Chicago, Bucharest, and Richmond that had previously survived Death's Veil were almost completely obliterated during the invasion as the bulk of the fighting took place within 150 miles of those points.

Bug Reports / Re: Rising Angels: Hope
« on: March 20, 2016, 05:33:08 pm »
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but it seems there's a mistake when helping Lenna cram for the retake. When the character's are taking a break, Faye mentions buying Ice cream for everyone, but I never bought ice cream. I figure it references the choice at the store, where I bought Kika's game instead.
Yep, right place and a bug we are sadly aware of. An update is coming soon. Thanks!

So your last update said that Hope will be a paid release: can we pre-order? Or, is there a level at which we can donate on your website to receive Hope?
No preorders, seeing as it comes out in a couple days. If you donated to the studio prior to that announcement, you do get it for free. Otherwise it is not included in the donations list at the moment.
