Beatrix. Pluto met the young woman in a poor state, exhausted mentally, and terrified of what being a maid would entail, presently and in future. She felt she didnít have the courage to have her fears, in this case, of boarding the Zephyr and soaring through the skies.

In was at this breaking point that Beatrix approached, and, in a manner gentle enough not to scare the child away, assured her that she could overcome everything in her way. Though she didnít realize it herself, Pluto immediately attached herself to the woman.

Friendship isnít something sheís had in years, casually or more intimately. Even this small act of kindness was enough for Pluto to decide she would try her best to trust in her new friend. Perhaps this is why she decided to continue the journey. Perhaps not.

As for her current thoughts regarding Beatrix, she would want nothing more than to work alongside her, out of everyone sheís seen thus far. She feels instinctively that she can believe in Beatrix more than the average person, and desperately wants someone to place her hopes in- to assure herself she has any left.

She would probably try and spend time with Beatrix... though, she isnít able to push for what she desires. If turned away, she would likely accept it, regardless of how much it might break her heart. Though, her interests are purely platonic in this regard; perhaps she sees Beatrix as a surrogate, but not a romantic partner.

Sylvia... a more complicated feeling. She met the energetic girl around the same time she met Beatrix, if slightly after. The meeting was far less subtle, far less gentle, and startling for the child. The sudden appearance and, worse, physical contact, reminded Pluto of the bullies she used to suffer, and worsened her mood if anything.

Still, over time, she managed to convince herself that Sylvia, as well as Andromeda and Maho, who were with her, were trying to help, even if they didnít understand her feelings enough to do so. She decided to apologize and try to be friends if possible, blaming herself for her misunderstanding.

While they didnít really see each other much beyond this, Pluto resolved herself toward the goal of trying to become friends with everyone- and, more meaningfully, to be there for people as well as she can, and help everyone get alone in the future.  With this in mind, she and Sylvia will likely be able to get along.

Limited interactions with the two, unfortunately, but I can try to give you notes, Dee.

Sylvia and Bea.

Sylvia thinks Bea is too uptight for her own good. That path will lead her to a bad situation where Bea has nobody who wants to help her on account of her driving off any potential friends, regardless of what her intentions are. Bea needs to live a little! Even if it's just cracking a smile at a crude joke!

Sylvia and Pluto.

There is something wrong with Pluto. Even Sylvia can see that. So, Sylvia must help Pluto the only way she knows how! By showering her with affection and friendship! Although admittedly the hug was not her best idea ever.

Hey Deeox is like, doing things. So like, maybe y'all can start taking the Fate Accelerated sheets that you've already all done and put them into Google Docs and then upload them unto the folder. Organizing some stuff for Wooly and Marx, you understand.

Also I wanted to quote this because I thought it was important.

Spoiler
Out of curiosity, what parts do you see as clashing? All systems have their quirks, and while alterations and house rules are often needed, completely reworking a system is often more problematic than it's worth. I'd don't know if there are mechanics that you're wanting to keep secret for whatever reason, but I'd recommend discussing what you can with everyone so that the outcome is ideal for everyone.

Being honest, I tend to use the word 'revamping' a lot because it lets me get away with anything, be it if in the end I change whole systems or just a single comma, and it's extremely useful when I'm still on the drawing board. Now, Fate Accelerated system is tremendously flexible from what I've seen, so I won't change a system wholesale. At the same time, I'm extremely paranoid, and I haven't finished reading all the rules to the extend I like, so I'm not sure if in the end I will have to change more or less.

If you want me to be more specific though, the bits I see clashing as of now are mostly 2. First, bare-bones Fate is pretty good mechanically, but precisely because of that, with stunts an attributes both social and in combat it encourages to just use those bits to break through most situations; it's what your characters is supposed to be good at, after all. But with MaidRPG we want more flexible RPing; I don't want to player to tell me if he's being forceful or careful, I want to read it, and I know sometimes an approach doesn't have to be any of the attributes or maybe a mix of various. I want to maintain that nuance in some way.  Now, this is not a big change (I won't destroy the attributes), but it requires me to likely add some rulings and probably a new rule or two. The second is related to combat, and it's basically an extension of what Arraxis said. Combat in Fate is tremendously free-form, and I plan you all to have some fun with that. But at the same time besides attributes it relies on one combat stunt to start, which is a number a bit lacking compared to what we want. Further, Maids are Maids because adalstier, not because they're super-humans. If a stunt that doesn't require using your element is the same as one without, it not only breaks the setting, it's also simply better because you won't ever suffer adalstier poisoning. I thus want to in some way restrict stunts that don't work with your elements: if it's swinging a sword or shooting a gun, the Administration has thousands of soldiers that can do that. Maids are maids because of their elements. At the same time I don't want to leave you without some 'standard combat' stunts for your Maid.

I dislike sharing details when I'm still not sure of them, but one thing I was thinking of is just make each element its own 'character' in Fate terms, with its own aspects and stunts. Maids of that element are thus able to use those stunts pertaining to that element (maids with only one element get a respectively higher bonus). The idea is to scale down the modifiers (or scale up everything else), so that to truly get an important bonus a maid has to work to combine both her element and personal stunts. This will naturally create the kind of inventive fights Wooly and me were searching for, while nerfing any non-element approach. That's my idea, but it requires to me a bit more familiar with the system before I can have some solid rules.

Sorry about being gone for so long, everyone. Anyway, I've actually had Lola's updated character sheet finished for quite some time now, but I've only just gotten around to making it publicly available. Better late than never, yeah?

So I had a good chat with Deeox last night and realized I was being prideful and small minded in my lack of transparency.  My right to do so, but all the same, no less hypocritical as a physician.  I owe Deeox thanks for helping me to see that clearly.

In truth, I've been holding off on MRPG for the simple reason that I've had daily migraines since about late September.  Many of you know in general terms I've been struggling with them, but I'll describe them in slightly more detail here.  They started months before and escalated from there, but settled into a daily pattern starting in September.  Obviously, coming home from work barely able to stand, seeing weird lights, and having to sit in the dark with sunglasses and wear industrial ear muffs just to be functional at work the next day leaves not such a huge amount of bandwidth to write creatively.  It's been all I can do to keep up with the ongoing RP's, never mind host one.

But the reason why I bring it up is because you, the players, deserve to know why MRPG was put on hold.  I made a promise to tell a story with you and I intend to make good on that word.  Deeox is going to get started on what he can if Marx is OK with it.  I'm going to try the 8th medication and see if it helps.  I'm hopeful.  Legitimately.  If things settle out in the next month or two, we'll do our best to ease back into things.

Right now, I'd just personally like to get the Fate Accelerated sheets organized so we can seperate them from the MRPG sheets on the Drive, thusly having them all in one place.

I'll need to look over stuff after that, so I can't exactly say what it is that I want to do after that, but I think that's a good starting place, wouldn't you say?

I already answered Deeox, but it's obviously Ok for me. Honestly, not even I knew the extent of Wooly's migraines, but at the same time I've been extremely busy myself, and I realize there were a lot of stuff I could have done to make things much easier. So let me apologize for my part too.

I've decided to take things easy with the combat system too. Fate is very flexible, and while everything Dee quoted me saying still stands, as long as players have it in mind and any of us can come with good rulings when the time comes, it's no impediment to start the game in any way (especially at the beginning, when everyone's adalstier powers are still a bit shaky). I'll still work on it, of course, but 'don't worry about it' is what I want to say.

Hey, All. So I basically just went and made sheets for everyone and like, copy and pasted sheet data into them.

But like, feel free to make your own so I can delete mine. It's all in the MRPG Drive Folder.

Two things tho, of course. Maho and Andromeda ain't got sheets (or at least not ones I found). Gotta get that done with.

Well, this is an amusing little fic. I mean, I was pretty sure that this was the reason I was getting woken up by emails from the forum, but I can't deny that it was an entertaining read, so I don't mind. I applaud you, Dee. Well done.
