I'd like to say that this is unexpected, but it doesn't really surprise me XD

Eh, I haven't checked the onion in a fairly long time.
Maybe I should have a browse again.

The Miku bit at the end got me good.  ;D

great punch line. While I like some vocaloid songs, I don't worship them. Some are kinda bad and a lot of them are really to emotional to listen to on a day to day basis. (seriously, some crazy sad songs out there)

And yet the Onion still manages to be more truthful than most real news outlets.
"A large [enemy] fleet has been [detected]. They are fifteen miles away and headed in our direction. They are believed to have four battleships, eight cruisers, and a number of destroyers. This will be a fight against overwhelming odds from which survival cannot be expected. We will do what damage we can." - Ernest E. Evans, Commander, USS Johnston (DD-557)

I don't follow them, but I am skeptical of their statistics. The population of Japan is surely greater than the nerd herd of 20 somethings in the US. I bet the level of understanding is far greater on average too.

The report further confirmed that virtually 100 percent of this demographic is either currently dating or recently broke up with a woman named Miku.

If it wasn't for that line, you could actually lure some people into believing this article. I lol'd, tough. :D

I'm a bit disappointed. I was expecting an article about onions that would make me laugh.

This is cool too I guess.

Wouldn't be the first time people start an earnest argument and cite an onion article as their source. I don't know whether to laugh or cry about that.

Why not both. Exposure to onions does that.

Lord Gorchnik has a couple of Miku's merchandise himself from when he lived in Japan.  They currently sit in a cabinet all pretty.  I have my servants shine them everyday.

Ah, the Onion. Good stuff there. Shame that I haven't read their stuff ever since the end of high school.
This is empty space. There is nothing here.
