Roleplaying yourself is actually a valid thing here. Not that I'll be doing that. Probably. For all you know Lan Zhao's my real name and I've been lying to you this whole time over the internet. But that would be silly. <.< >.> <.<

If anyone knows much about it, I'd love to know more about above the leg amputations and the recovery process, as well as prosthesis and how people live with it.

Depends.  First question is above the knee or below the knee.  Then we get into whether it's an amputation at or below the acetabular-femoral articulation.  In general, it's a pretty morbid condition if we're talking about above the knee amputations with a relatively high risk of complications and mortality both during and post op.  Below the knee amputations are much better tolerated with far fewer issues.  As far as the recovery process, you're looking at a LOT of physical therapy and psychiatric/psychological therapy regardless.  I don't know very much about mechanical prostheses.

On a more cheerful (or maybe not), I'm happy to say I'll do what I can to participate.  For the sake of simplicity and because I want to, I'll put together an Eli 4.0 for this bit of fun.

EDIT: After making a comment to Rev and Arraxis on a whim and mulling it over for about 5 seconds, I've decided to let Elvis have Eli as an NPC if he likes.  I'll be RPing Soseki Komura for this particular story~

GIMME TIME

I'm not sure when you plan to start it, but I'll need a bit of time to properly realise if I can come up at least with a character idea.
Right now, I say I'm not sure if I will participate.

Alas Elvis, I'm probably spread too thin to properly invest the needed time into this game.  Which I will add sucks, since an Elvis experience is not something that anyone should miss (even if we will all meet a horrible horrible death as your hands, but eh - thus is the power of evils~).  While I had no doubt that the players will provide you with a plethora of NPCs, I'll happily provide you one to kill all the PCs if you'd like  ;)

So, quick backstory of my char~

Or "How I stopped worrying and found a way to speak english as native language to keep point while still keeping french root
Born in Besançon, France, Mathis' family moved back to England, his father country, when he was still 2. While growing up, he grew really interested in computer science, mostly because he spent most of his life in front of a computer. With both his parent encouraging him to study, and thanks to his aptitude, he managed to have great result at school. While unsure if the choice was motivated only by his choice, or if he was unconsciously following his brother steps, Mathis settled on becoming an IT engineer, and choose to go to /insert city name here/ for his study once he finished highschool. Although he has no problem being on his own, he still contact his parents regularly, for his dad is often away from home because of his job and with him and his brother gone his mum tend to be alone pretty often.
On an unrelated note, one of the streamer he enjoys watching is also in the city, and although he doesn't actively search for her, he always try to keep an eye open when outside in case he could see her.

I'm contemplating making a Templeton Peck clone like character. For those of you that don't know who Peck is, he's Faceman from the A-Team. And no, I don't mean the shitty A-Team movie from a few years back; I mean the old show from the '80s. So basically, a smooth-talking conman with basic knowledge of warfare and a weakness for sexy women.

This isn't a final decision, of course, but it's what I'm leaning toward. Anyway, if anyone wants more information on Faceman, here's his page on the A-Team wiki.

* Elvis Strunk laughs evilly.

Silly Arra~ Lan Zhao can't be your real name! Lan Zhao is my real name. I've been decieving everyone from the very start! ...or not.

On a more cheerful (or maybe not), I'm happy to say I'll do what I can to participate.  For the sake of simplicity and because I want to, I'll put together an Eli 4.0 for this bit of fun.

Awesome~ I'll make sure to kill you extra brutally~ Happy to have you on board and I hope it's enjoyable enough to be worth the time.

GIMME TIME
Can do~ Not even remotely ready to start this yet. Well, I could, but it'd be a bigger mess than it's supposed to be. So don't worry about rushing or not having enough time; just take it slow and have fun making something, if you end up doing so.

Alas Elvis, I'm probably spread too thin to properly invest the needed time into this game.  Which I will add sucks, since an Elvis experience is not something that anyone should miss (even if we will all meet a horrible horrible death as your hands, but eh - thus is the power of evils~).  While I had no doubt that the players will provide you with a plethora of NPCs, I'll happily provide you one to kill all the PCs if you'd like  ;)
It's a shame the Best Player Ever won't be able to join, but I expected it might end up that way~ I'm counting myself lucky to get one out of you and wooly, honestly~ That said, it MIGHT be REMOTELY possible for you to join later on if you manage to free enough time. Either way, I appreciate the kind words on the awesomeness of Elvis-based things, though I assure everyone, this won't go like you might be expecting~

I shall keep your offer in mind, as well as the offered Eli, but I will state, the primary method of character interaction will likely end up being between each other a lot of the time. While I will be making a lot of posts, they will tend more toward describing what's going on, what's been discovered, and that sort of thing. I probably won't have very many NPCs, at least until the REDACTED event happens. Of course, assuming anyone makes it that far.

Okay, I believe the Google Doc sheet has everything we'll need for our purposes, so I guess you can go ahead and start making copies of it and fill it out so we don't all have to download everyone's sheets just to look at.

Thanks for all the hard work, Gamer~ Yes, everyone, once you've created your character sheet, please make sure to fill out (a copy of) Gamer's sheet as well! This will be exceptionally helpful for keeping track of things easily.

Unrelated, I have a few (entirely optional) questions here. Feel free to ignore them. You can send the answers to me in a PM. Please base answers on your character, and not yourself, if there would be a difference~

Why are you alive?

What is morality?

What is yours?

What is death?

What comes after?

What would you die for?

What would you live for?

What would you kill for?

There are a multitude of ways to think of these questions, and the exact meaning and intent behind them is up to you. Feel free to answer however you wish, with as little or as much detail as you'd like. I'm sure it seems like there's a bit of overlap here, and it could be seen that way, but each of these questions is an important distinction.

So how will you handle starting weapons, Elvis? Say I want my character to have a knife. Will you let us do that?

I'm sorry to say this, Duke, but I don't see anything even remotely close to a Wave Motion Gun on the Weapons table. :P

I want to say, just avoid worrying too much about weapons just yet, but I understand some of you will be the type that would realistically have some on you. Thanks to the differences in the battle system, weapons will work differently than they do in the game. I'll detail exactly how, later on. There's at least a chance that they'll end up with much different stats and settings than in the book, so choosing what seems 'most powerful' now might not have much effect overall. For now, note that it's generally illegal, or at least difficult, to have much on you, so try and keep it small and discreet. Also, there will be an extra system in place for how weapons work, and I'll explain this... a long time from now~ It won't be important until the point I need to explain it at; combat will work generally fine until then.

and you might be able to somehow get a wave motion gun. eventually.
