NERV Command is silent, giving the Pilots the peace and quiet they need to operate, but the channel is not quiet. “Sound off,” Azami says.

“Unit Zero, ready to go!”
“Yatagarasu-Maru ‘ere, Aza-chan.”
“Takumi… please don’t.”
“Idumea and I are prepared, Azami.”
"Ready, Azami."

From your position above the cliff face is a beach where a lengthy string of bakelite grenades have been set into a circle. Elidia is far off behind you, readying her Great Positron Cannon. Anatoly is beside you, his grenade launcher in his hands. Below you is Phillip and Yuki, Phillip with a sledgehammer and Yuki with a pair of Progressive Knives, both ready to engage in close combat. Takumi is hidden away somewhere, waiting for his moment to appear and strike. Gradually, Cassiel grows closer, slithering up from the water and into the air toward you all.
